About Lakeview Sunrise
Ever want to see what life is like on a small rural farm in Pennsylvania? Then have we got a spot for you ... and just you! We have one campsite (for up to six tents) nestled in a clearing behind our lake. Walk the woods, fish the lake, give us a hand feeding the turkeys ... as much or as little as you want to do. One of the unique things we can set you up with is to provide all the food you need straight from our farm. Eat from the very ground you are sleeping on! You can't get much fresher than that. Just minutes from the trails at Mt. Pisgah state park that meander around Stephen Foster Lake.

David and Marla are two of the kindest people we've met on our travels. We stopped by for one night on our way up to New York and were immediately welcomed by David and a few dozen of his free range chickens roaming his property. This place is absolutely picture perfect, the campsite is at the end of the lake on the opposite side of the main house, completely private on an open field surrounded by forest with a stunning view of the lake. Hungry? We didn't bring any food, instead we took full advantage of what the farm had to offer, just ask ahead of time :) Oh and don't forget to take home some of Marla's home made salsa. It's sooo good!
Can I start with how amazing our host were? The most welcoming and warm people you'll meet, aside of their property being beyond beautiful they made the stay ten times better with how attentive they were. It was such an amazing experience to camp in a chicken farm, I loved seeing all these chickens roaming around free and I can't miss to say friendly as well. The campground offered everything I wanted, it was a big open meadow in the middle of the woods but with a spectacular lake view. In the night we set a fire and enjoyed all the sparkling fireflies in the distance just the right camp vibes I had been looking for. Everything there felt so fresh and enjoyable. If you're looking for good vibes I definitely recommend this place, I enjoyed every second of it and I'm looking forward to returning to Lake View Sunrise.
This was truly the best camping experience we ever had. We camp a few times a year and nothing could compare to the experience at Windstone Landing farm. Marla and Dave were so nice and accommodating. Before we arrived they reached out for a grocery list and had everything waiting for us. It was from their farm and other local farms they work with. The food was absolutely incredible and so fresh.
The first night we got there, Marla , Dave, and two local culinary students prepared a meal for us to enjoy. The food was delicious and again all from the farm and the local area. The dinner started with a cheese plate and bruschetta and progressed into a salad followed by a pork chop for dinner. The dessert was homemade ice cream, panna cotta, and strawberry shortcake. It was great to have the first night dinner provided so we could relax after setting up camp.
The rest of the trip we cooked ourselves and enjoyed the delicious ingredients Marla and Dave provided. We also got to enjoy the chickens roaming around and putting the turkeys to bed. Marla and Dave explained a lot of the farming processes and we learned a lot about their day to day life.
The campsite is secluded and you have a ton of space to play games and set up camp. We walked around the lake and the woods on the farm. We also went to Mt. Pisgah State Park which was about a 5 minute drive. We went to the pool there to cool off. You can also rent boats and hike at the park.
I could not recommend this experience more. The whole weekend was a euphoric experience and the whole group agreed we have to go back again. We also got to stock up on meat, eggs, and canned goods from the farm. Definitely book your next camping trip with Marla and Dave and I guarantee it will be an amazing experience!
The campsite at WindStone Landing Farms couldn't be more perfect! It was very peaceful and private, with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding nature. We spent three great days there with a group of friends, cooking delicious farm fresh food over the campfire and enjoying one another's company. Marla and Dave were perfect hosts, and not only was their own produce great, but they got an entire shopping list of items from surrounding farms to complete our meals! I've never eaten so well while sleeping in a tent. We will absolutely be back ASAP!!
