Summer Salad Bar was a dream ! We booked two nights the morning after spending a night at a unexpectedly loud state park nearby. We did not regret our decision to relocate ! Joseph and his son Soren got our campsite ready to rock in perfect timing as we arrived ! They gave us all the necessary info upon arrival and made us feel so welcome ! Plenty of firewood was available ! There was a beautiful creek and view right on our campsite and we felt safe and at peace ! Truly a beautiful site with Babycakes, a sweet cow coming by to check up on us ! We were able to drive up to our site and head out to the nearby Walmart for last minute needs. Our stay exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return !
We had such a serene stay at Greene Kitchen Farm! We were welcomed upon arrival and led to our campsite -- a grassy area right beside a creek. We had a lovely fire and slept soundly at this quiet spot. Joshua's family was very kind. Lots of great farm animals to meet here, too :) thank you!
Josh was a great host, especially during these times of social distancing. He showed us around, from afar, and answered all the questions we had. The space itself was great and we loved hearing the stream while sleeping. The cows were a great surprise and we even saw a calf take it's first steps. We would absolutely come back.
Will definitely come back!
This was my first time using Hipcamp and the apps pretty great. Was skimming through the app looking for a place I could go with my daughter, well away from everyone during this pandemic. Messaged josh and got a quick reply. We pull up their driveway and my daughter was instantly greeted them some baby goats. Was shown to my site (site 3) which was furthest from the house and in a nicely wooded area only downfall of the site was the amount of thorn bushes around and on the site floor ( looks like it was recently mowed down) this didn’t really bother me and my 6 year old but if I had brought my 2 year old I could see him whining every 20 mins cause he got pricked most Likely the thorns wont be an issue in the future as people come and drive/ walk over them . While camping you can here the cows, dogs, and the rooster (in the AM). We were able to walk around the property and see the animals (my daughter loved it) there was water pumps every few yards along the fields. Dead trees and wood and rocks you can use for a fire pit and fire (site 3 now has a nice size fire pit thanks to yours truly lol) will definitely come back in the future
Lovely camping spot
We had an absolutely lovely time staying at the Greene Kitchen Farm. Josh and his family were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at location 3 and it was a beautiful wooded grove. If you love birding like me, there were lots of different species to see from orioles (we even saw a female building her nest), warblers, and flycatchers. Make sure to bring your binoculars! The stars at night were also beautiful if you get a clear sky. Great spot to camp with beautiful hillside views and great sunsets.
Serene 4th of july weekend
We had an incredible stay over the 4th of July weekend - it was truly magical with fireflies enveloping the surrounding fields and fireworks going off in the distance. The mooing of cows in the background rounded out a truly serene camping experience.
We stayed at site 1 and 2 (and checked out site 3). Site 1 provides superb ambiance and views of the surrounding farm - in my opinion site 1 is the best. Site 3 is at the end of the road and provides the most seclusion. Site 2 is in the middle of the camp and provides ample seclusion, however site 2 has very few level spots to setup tent/camp - I recommend either some terraforming to level out the ground, or the construction of a level platform/deck to bring site 2 up to par with site 1 and 3.
Great place to camp
Great little spot. The host was helpful and courteous. We stayed in campsite #3. It was a nice secluded area with both sun and shade. You couldn't see other campsites or buildings from this location, but you were able to hear campers at site #2 (may not be best for louder late night campers). Had cell service and stores were 10 min away or less. We had extra cars with us this trip and our host was very accommodating concerning parking. Price is quite reasonable and we would all camp here again. Thanks!
Pretty neat place. Cattle walks up to a fence right next to the camp site. Bring your own wood, the wood sold there isn’t enough for a fire and is green.
Other then the wood thing, we where left alone The entire time which is a plus for me. Would definitely stay here again.
This was my second time staying with at Greene Kitchen Farm - just a quick overnight for travel - but everything was great. There was a bit of a storm headed in, but trees on site 1 allowed me to build a dry hammock/tarp rig. Had a nice standing bath in the pasture from one of the hydrants, and the little stream by camp 1 kept my milk and water cool. This is a great place to stop for the night.
