50-some years ago, the legendary Grampy David made his way to The Red Rock Rabbit Ranch. There he resides: a good-hearted curmudgeon, a handyman, a grumpy, Ywengling-drinking philosopher, the wittiest mason, carpenter, roofer, etc. you'll ever meet. I'm his grandson, a documentary filmmaker helping to make ends meet here by sharing this glorious space with Hip Campers. 50 acres of serene woods, fields, a pond, and Mine Run Creek. This is a place to relax, to get in touch with nature and reconnect with the people you love. Spring Mount Adventures is nearby. The Perkiomen Creek Trail is only a mile away. Crawfish, sycamore trees, foxes, pileated woodpeckers, and more! Caring for the land: please do not collect your own firewood on the land. That wood is decomposing and contributing to the health of the forest, providing numerous habitats for bugs. Note on dogs: we run a dog-sitting business, so there may be a pack (2-5) of dogs that come through the woods with us on walks. All dogs we sit are friendly towards humans. Food recs: Raw Replenish in downtown Schwenksville has healthy smoothies and salads. Thai Spice is ten minutes away. Trouble's End brewing is 15 minutes away in Collegeville, with delicious beer and a Spicy Chicken sandwich.

A shady glen has soft grass to pitch a tent. A 50-second walk from the parking area, and we provide a wheelbarrow to help move your stuff - follow the green trail markers. There's deer, foxes, herons and pileated woodpeckers that are frequent visitors among us. We've got a nice trail that runs along the creek, through the sculpture garden, up a hill and back through the field. When the creek is high enough, you can find a spot to dip in for a swim. We've got a metal fire pit if you'd like to have a fire, and if you'd rather go out to eat, we're not far from Trouble's End Brewery in Collegeville that has the best food in the area. We're also a two-minute drive from the Perkiomen Creek trail.

Saccara is a four-minute walk from the parking spot. You're right next to the creek, close enough to hear it burbling at night. This campsite offers a serene and picturesque setting, highlighted by a beautiful creek and plenty of wildlife sightings. Visitors appreciate the peaceful, secluded atmosphere, which is perfect for a quick getaway from the city. While the natural surroundings are a major draw, potential campers should be aware of the occasional tick and the rustic nature of the toilet facilities. Overall, the host Martin receives high marks for his hospitality and responsiveness.
