*The Camper is closed until winter is over. Enjoy hibernating in your bear den*

Camp Blackbird is a secluded 28-acre property located along the border of Beltzville State Park in Lehighton, PA.  The camper is surrounded by trees and is a 3-minute walk from a 949-acre lake.  Walk a short ways to swim or sit along the lake.  Miles of hiking trails for you to explore from your site.  You are not on top of other campsites and the state park does not allow overnight camping. There is one other campsite 250-feet away. We ask that you are respectful of your neighbors and keep loud night time noise to a minimum. We ask that your neighbors show you the same consideration, ensuring a serene experience for all. The campsites are ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. This is NOT the place for partying.

The 2003 Forest River 30' travel trailer has a queen bed, bunk beds and a pull out couch.  No sleeping on the ground for you!  There is a full kitchen - gas stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator.  Plates, bowls, and silverware.  Besides the shower, there is a flushable toilet and running water.  Yes running water!  There is a coffee maker (with the coffee filters) and toaster.  Please bring pans if you plan to cook.  We have a tray and dish to use that will fit the strange sized oven.  If you plan to cook over campfire, you need to bring everything to do that.

There is a small TV and DVD player.  Sorry no wifi or cable TV.  Cell phone reception is very good at the camp and on the lake.

Included is unlimited firewood with everything you need for a campfire. Lighter, paper, kindling, and chopped, seasoned firewood.  There are also benches around the campfire and a picnic table to use.

We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake.  There are miles of hiking trails a few minute walk from your campsite.  Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling.  The boat launch is just a few minute drive from Camp.

In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and white water rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.

The property is not suitable for parties or events.  The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding.  The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.

You can park just a few feet from the camper.

We, the hosts, live on the property about 700 ft from the campsite.  We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.

VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.

We welcome pets.

Have someone in your group that want to tent camp outside the camper? There is room outside the camper for a tent.  The camper is great for families bringing kids that might want to camp outside in a tent but the parents don't want to sleep on the ground.

Some of you are going to stay in the camper and some want to tent camp outside? That's fine.  You can pitch a tent anywhere within 25 ft of the camper. If some people in your group want to be farther away, you can rent Campsite1 which is 250 ft from the camper site. It has its own campfire spot, picnic table and unlimited water.  Discounts available when you book both sites.
