Enjoyed my stay at this campsite
I was very pleased with this campsite. It was far enough where I didn't feel disturbed by the farm animals but close enough for me to play with them in the morning.
Carrie, the host, was very friendly, kind and thoughtful. She made sure to give us a gallon of water in case we needed it and told us there was a fire ring that's ready to use. She even set aside some woods for us to use but we foraged them instead to make life easier for her and because we enjoyed it and there was plenty dry wood to choose from.
This site also included a hot shower right by the farm (and I mean really hot water). Its outside, right next to the barn but there is enough coverage for privacy.
Overall, this is one of the best camping experiences I had. I really enjoy the farm animal, including exotic horses, fainting goats, chickens, etc and a private campsite that gave me a lot of privacy and peace.
It's also only a 20 min drive from Ricketts Glenn if you're looking to hike.
Wow, this farm was more than what I could've asked for. Our campsite was very private at the back of a couple of pastures and we were able to park our car right at the site (there was a loft available as well). We were supplied with dry fire wood as well as a gallon of water. In the morning we drove down to the barn and were given tea/coffee and a tour of the farm and animals. Carrie was very kind and answered any and all questions. Just be weary of walking in the fields without proper protection because of chiggers. We plan to return to volunteer!!
Barakah Heritage Farm was by far one of the best camping experiences I’ve had! The host Carrie was so great to my 3 friends and I! She provided us with water, firewood, morning coffee, suggestions of places to visit during our stay, very interesting knowledge about her farm, the animals she has, and much more. She’s also easy to contact and quick to respond if you have any questions. Carrie’s dog, Runa, is great she is so sweet and probably the most lovable dog you’ll meet! If you love real, outdoor camping you will love it here!
