The wife and returned to the farm, our 2nd visit, but this time we brought the kids along for their first camping trip. The site was great.. Carrie had given us the option as the where we set up camp.. we set up the tents next to the pond.. felt good to be back visiting.. there are a few camp sites available at the farm and i jokingly said we'd try them all.. but i do believe we will do just that.

The view over pond at the farm house.. was very peaceful there at night.. definitely wasn't ready to pack up the next morning the goats are always entertaining.. you will begin to learn names.. just like hearing children being corrected.. the kids are the same way😁Another frog the daughter just couldn't catch.. this trip..the daughter was obsessed with catching a frog.. tried to explain how it would be to try.

Carrie was an excellent, responsive communicator. She gave excellent directions t to the site and detailed instructions once we arrived. She provided extra COVID precautions, with no-contact pick up of daily wood and water supply and hand sanitizer with the camp toilet. The piney pond site had two levels - a shady one close to a road and a sunnier spot next to the pond. We chose to set up our tent near the pond and campfire and it was perfect! If you are a light sleeper, the croaks of the frogs is pretty loud at night, but we enjoyed it. The site is near the road, but there are at most 3-4 cars that travel the road through the day. We hiked Ricketts Glen one afternoon which is a quick 20 minute drive and stopped at a great ice cream shop on the way home. Highly recommend this site!

We had a wonderful stay at the farm. We were traveling with a 5 year old and 2 year old- piney pond was a great site for us! It was private and the road was not an issue at all- hardly any cars but great for bikes and powerwheels. We could watch the horses, goats, ducks and chickens all day, fish in the pond and it was a short and pleasant walk to the barn to visit the animals. Fantastic host and the animals are all so very well cared for and loved. Our girls had the most fun interacting with the goats! This was also a great location in between Worlds End State Park and Ricketts Glen state park. Both were incredible to visit. Also very close to walking paths, rail trail for bikes and kids’ natural playground in Eagle’s Mere. Fun and educational stay in a great location!

Carrie and the whole Barakah crew exceeded our expectations in every way. I brought my 9 and 14 year old for the weekend and we all had an amazing time, learned a ton and made some new friends.

They take Heritage Farming seriously and make themselves available for tours, hikes or just a quick chat. Anyone interested in a beautiful setting on a working heritage and sustainable farm should check it out.
