Jeffers Tree Farm is a 2100 hundred acre privately-owned plantation that offers exceptional opportunities to explore nature and enjoy the peace and solitude of the woods, million-dollar views and abundant wildlife. Accommodating only a small number of guests at a time makes it easy for one to find privacy on the extensive acreage. Guests come to Jeffers Farm to gather, celebrate, retreat, study, write, compose, photograph, play, heal and fall in love. Come back or experience for the first time a piece of our tree farm.

DISTANT VIEW TENT SITE provides a 16' x 12' wooden tent platform with 2 hammocks, wooden picnic table, small gas grill with one camping propane tank (1 lb), and fire ring.  The site is on the edge of a field of 12' Norway Spruce trees but is tucked in for privacy on 3 sides, with the fourth side open to a mountain view.  Please note that Loomis Lake which is nearby is not our property.  A property map in included in the photos - please review it so that you are sure to stay within our 2000 acres.   The portable toilet is trailer-mounted and will be placed up to several hundred yards away - a nice walk during the daytime but you may want to drive to it at night.  There is no electricity or water at Distant View,  however we are happy to bring potable water, as well as a shower setup to you for additional fees.  We also have available to rent a large 10x10 tent, sleeping cots and pads, sleeping bags, chairs, and a 10x10 EZ Up Canopy on a first-reserved basis.   Please call or message us if you'd like to camp without transporting all of this gear - we will even setup and tear down your camp for you!    The roads leading to this site  are in good condition - even a small car can easily get here.   A map will be emailed after confirmed reservation.   Distant View is near Shelterwood which is currently being set up as a (dry)  RV, Van and Tent Site.    One of our staff will meet you at our Route 106 campus - shown on the map - and you will follow us out to Distant View.

This is not a review of the actual site as I had to cancel the morning of. But Jennifer was so hospitable from the very moment I requested to book, to the last minute cancellation, I just had to give her a good review. I cannot wait to camp at the site and will be doing so as soon as possible.

The Distant View campsite is amazing! We were looking for something a little more secluded than what you find at a regular campground, and this went way beyond our expectations. The tent platform is huge and easily fit our huge 6-person tent. We stayed onsite the whole time, relaxing and hiking around on all the dirt roads. And the view was just beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!
