Being my first time using hipcamp, I didn't expect to be in Tyler's front yard in the middle of a neighborhood. However, it was secluded, quiet, and Tyler was an excellent and hospitable host and made use very comfortable. Much better coffee than any hotel I've ever stayed at. Had I been more prepared for what to expect, it would have made a 10/10 experience a 11/10.
Absolutely wonderful! cozy & safe
Staying here was perfect! Tyler was 110% on top of making sure I was comfortable and had all of my needs met during my stay, even going as far as offering me special well-water from the property for the rest of my travels.
One of my favorite parts was being welcome to all of his wood and supplies for building myself a campfire. His family and doggos were also super friendly :) Good people like this are a gift.
The location also made me feel very safe tent-camping solo. Tyler's house is in the kind of community where it's obvious all the neighbors are good friends. The front-yard camp site felt rural enough that I really felt like I could enjoy nature, but close enough to a house and neighbors that I wasn't scared about hungry bears or curious coyotes.
Highly recommend! Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Infectious energy great hospitality
Tyler was so welcoming and an extraordinary host! His energy is infectious, and the community he has built through Hipcamp was a breath of fresh air. Just minutes away from the Deschutes River & National Park (literally, a 5 minute walk and you're on park lands) - this site was such a gem! This is the kind of funky, unique & fun experience you get when you Hipcamp!!
If you’re ever planning to travel through Bend, you should definitely stay at Tyler’s place. If you’re NOT planning to travel through Bend, make a detour and stay at Tyler’s place. He was EXTREMELY welcoming and hospitable to both the humans and the dogs in our party. His dogs were super friendly, as well! His place is within walking distance to a ton of national forest land & the beautiful Deschutes River, which is awesome to dip your feet in & lazily kayak down first thing in the morning. We’ll definitely be staying here again next time we swing through town...thanks for everything, Tyler!
A bit close to other guests, but very friendly folks. Tyler the host was grand in all ways!! I felt very at ease
This experience was everything I hoped it would be. We met up with our friends for three nights at Tyler’s. They had an RV and we had a van. Plenty of parking and room to move for all. We had a group of eight and we made full use of the site, shower, fire and proximity to the river. We packed up each morning to ride mtb trails and returned each afternoon for river floats, dinner on bbq and s’mores by the fire. The dog may have loved it the most. Lots of dog friends came by to say hi and wrestle. Tyler’s description was spot on as were the reviews. U must be comfortable with bathroom sharing and being in a neighborhood.
This was our first time using Hipcamp and we have nothing but great things to say about our experience. We were immediately impressed with how easy it was to book at Tyler's place. Set in a beautiful part of central Oregon, Tyler's place was the quiet but welcoming campsite we needed after a long day of exploring and hiking with our pup. It has everything you need for a comfortable night's stay. Plenty of room to set up a tent or two, car or van camp or if you are adventurous sleep under the stars in a hammock. It is dog friendly which is a huge plus. Tyler's hospitality did not go unnoticed. He made us feel at home right off the bat. We would absolutely stay here again.
We absolutely loved our stay with Tyler and his daughter Cameron. They were so sweet, warm and hospitable and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay there. The property is about 20 min or so outside of the city of Bend, and was on our way to camping in the Cascade Lakes. The front yard is huge with a fire pit, hammock, and picnic bench for a nice little hang out area. Highly recommend for anyone making their way through this part of Oregon and needing a place to set up camp!
