INTRODUCING THE SKY & TIMBER LOFT CABIN
Welcome to our beautiful unique handcrafted LOFT CABIN, set atop a log workshop amongst the trees. Up the hill from our beloved log home, this private and secluded space is nestled in a wooded paradise filled with sun rays, forest life, and stunning views. Come relax, be with nature, and feel completely at ease in this peaceful retreat. Located in Willamette Valley's lush wine country, only 20 minutes from Eugene. Surrounded by vast natural landscapes, endless adventure, and Oregon magic. Enjoy!
INSIDE THE SPACE
The cabin is warm, inviting, and made almost entirely out of wood. Like most things on our property, it was in a state of neglect when we took ownership in 2015. We have since lovingly restored and rejuvenated the cabin, while preserving it's beautiful patina and rustic elements. The exposed log high-beam ceiling and handmade wood sash windows create an open airy feel. The decor is light, bright, and all about comfort and creating a truly unique experience.

THE SURROUNDING AREA
Our country neighborhood is called Valley View, and we call our little piece of paradise THE SHIRE (you'll see why when you visit). All of the properties perched on this hillside are beautiful, well-maintained, and sit on ~5-acres. The residents are quiet, respectful, and friendly. Some keep horses, sheep, chickens, and other pets. There is lots of wildlife to watch and so many cool birds — everything from sweet songbirds and hummingbirds (we feed them year round), to the amazing flying predators such as hawks, eagles, and owls. Plus we're often visited by deer, squirrels, jackrabbits, bunnies, and more. Furry four-legged predators also live in the surrounding forests, but we've never spotted any on our property.
The cabin and surrounding outdoor area is private and secluded with no neighbors in sight, except for us of course. Our charming log home is just down the hill and only adds to the magical feel of this very special place. You can see it through the trees from the cabin front window during the Winter months until Spring fills everything back in with more lush green and flowers.
It's easiest to get here and explore the beautiful Oregon countryside by car, or bike if you're a confident rider. There is private outdoor parking for your vehicle in front of the cabin. Storage is available for your bikes and equipment. Once here, there is lots to explore by foot via forest trails, garden pathways, and country roads.
Since Cheshire is an unincorporated part of Lane County, there is no public transportation — just a tiny post office and a Dari Mart convenience store. Fortunately, there are several fire stations nearby. The Eugene Airport is very close, only a 10-15 minute drive. Then another 10-15 minutes to Downtown Eugene, which is very walkable, bike-friendly, and has plenty of attractions to checkout.
The entire cabin and surrounding outdoor area is yours to enjoy. The workshop below is a real working shop where we build and fix bikes, vehicles, and a variety of other things, but we keep it quiet and always respect your privacy. For liability reasons, this inside of the workshop is off-limits to guests, but you're welcome to explore other parts of our property such as the forest trails and the garden space. We simply ask that you respect our privacy and avoid the area around our home.
We are here to be warm, welcoming, helpful hosts. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our little piece of Oregon country paradise with you. We'll greet you upon arrival, give a quick tour, then leave you to relax and enjoy. During your stay, one of us will always be available to answer questions, provide recommendations, and help with any issues that may arise. Simply send us a text or message us here to request assistance.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
The cabin sits atop a hill and requires climbing a fairly steep driveway to access. It's mostly paved, but it can still be a little slippery at times. It can also get very dark out here at night. Please use extra caution when navigating the parking area, driveway, and country roads. Poison oak is prolific in these parts. Stick to the trails and always be on the look out for their glossy green leaves of three.
It's so peaceful and quiet here. You can hear the wind and the trees, the birds and the bees. Sometimes you can also hear nearby farm equipment and noisy vehicles. There may be occasional noise from our landscaping equipment as this property requires constant maintenance, and we want to keep it looking nice.
Your private entrance and porch is located atop a flight of stairs. The stunning forest and territorial views are worth the climb. The twin loft bed is only accessible by climbing a wooden ladder and is best-suited for a small flexible adult.
There are birds, bugs, bats, and lots of other wildlife out here. Most everything is friendly and very entertaining to watch, but there is always a chance of encountering a pest or a predator. Please be extra aware and let us know if you do. We’re here to help with with any unwanted visitors.
Pets and wildlife roam freely here, so we're unable to accommodate additional animals at this time. We care for 6 happy free range forest chickens and 1 lazy cat, named Sue. We also keep honeybees and feed the birds year round.
The cabin and property are not child-proof or well-suited for children. There are stairs, ladders, steep walkways, high places, fire pits, and other potential hazards.
The cabin's maximum occupancy is 3 adults, but it's best-suited for 2. Please refrain from inviting unregistered visitors to our property without prior consent.
Our property is secured by a gated-entrance requiring a code or remote to open. We'll provide you with the gate code and one remote when you arrive. Please do not share these items with anyone. Instead, meet taxis and deliveries at the gate.
You're tucked in the trees, so most signals don't get through. There is no WiFi in the cabin and limited cell service. Rest assured, connection is nearby.
You're welcome to roam and explore our beautiful 5-acre wooded property. We simply ask that you respect our privacy and avoid the area around our home.
Please no smoking inside the cabin or anywhere on our property. Thank you for helping keep this beautiful natural retreat clean and chemical-free.
Feel free to check-out any time before noon on the last day of your visit. Please leave the key and gate remote in the cabin, and return any items you borrowed. Also, let us know if there is any damage or lost items before you depart.

The vibe at Oregon Country Cabin Nature Retreat
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Shasta and Jason are the coolest. Their cabin tucked up the hill sits over their property, this cozy cabin is the perfect getaway if you are passing through Eugene. Its a little piece of heaven, offering Hipcampers with the option to feel like they can be in the outdoors or tuck away indoors. With a complete kitchen, wooden stove, games, books, music console, I feel guilty saying that I would have been happier staying indoors all day!! However, for those with cabin fever, there are a few community trails leading to Christmas tree farms as far and wide as the eye can see, bike trails that Jason is currently carving out if you're the avid cyclist like he is. Fern ridge lake is a few short miles, perfect to lay a blanket out and read or have a picnic or bird watch. A couple of wineries surround the area as well.
Shasta and Jason have literally thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, and feel like this is your home away from home! (:
The space was even better than described. It was filled with everything you need and more. You could put a record on and cook a nice meal / Cozy up and enjoy cabin life. It was pituresque and quiet, but not too far from town! Shasta was an amazing host and communication was a breeze. Highly recommend! And hope to return :)
Wonderful cabin in the woods. Fully furnished and a ton of character, a beautiful retreat for anyone around Eugene, the hosts are super nice and really cool. The trails up the hill from the cabin are beautiful and offer great views of the area. Excellent kitchen and outdoor grill with a unique fire pit. For those who admire log cabins, this spot is a must.
