We poured our hearts and souls into making it a truly unique and special experience to BE HERE — and we’re so happy to share it with you NOW. * * * OUR STORY OF BEING HERE We are Jason & Shasta — your welcoming hosts and the gracious caretakers of this lovely land, we call THE SHIRE. We escaped here from the busy city of Seattle, where we both grew up and later joined forces. A series of fortunate and unfortunate events brought us here in the middle of Winter, January 2015. Ever since, we’ve been working hard to restore and elevate the unique structures and natural beauty that resides here. We started with our beloved LOG HOME, then branched out from there. It took three years, and a whole lot of blood, sweat, and tears. But we did it and we’re finally able to share our little piece of OREGON COUNTRY paradise with YOU — and anyone who is looking to RETREAT in a place, and inside a space, that is truly special. WELCOME & ENJOY TODAY! * * * Shasta is a down-home country girl, devoted yogi, freelance designer, and marketing guru who loves creating beautiful spaces and unique experiences. She is blessed to work out of our beautiful home as a freelancer and a host. Jason is an intensely passionate cyclist and bike mechanic who is handy in more ways than one. He used to fix cars, now he fixes everything and keeps our property looking naturally beautiful. Together, we live a simple life filled with love, laughter, music, adventure, and delicious organic gluten-free food. We prefer a more intimate kind of travel with road trips, ferry rides, long walks and talks, hiking, cycling, and staying in cozy places where we feel at home and can make our own food. We love exploring nature's spender, historic small towns, and windy country backroads. We're grateful for the opportunity to travel, explore, learn, grow, and love more.

Oregon Country Cabin Nature Retreat

Jason and Shasta met us as we rolled in, gave us a tour of the location, and answered any questions we had. They were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the whole stay. The location was absolutely beautiful and if you get the chance I highly suggest taking a walk through the christmas tree farm. Its as peaceful as can be with amazing views. Thank you Jason and Shasta for your hospitality!!

Oregon Country Cabin Nature Retreat

Wonderful cabin in the woods. Fully furnished and a ton of character, a beautiful retreat for anyone around Eugene, the hosts are super nice and really cool. The trails up the hill from the cabin are beautiful and offer great views of the area. Excellent kitchen and outdoor grill with a unique fire pit. For those who admire log cabins, this spot is a must.

Oregon Country Cabin Nature Retreat

The space was even better than described. It was filled with everything you need and more. You could put a record on and cook a nice meal / Cozy up and enjoy cabin life. It was pituresque and quiet, but not too far from town! Shasta was an amazing host and communication was a breeze. Highly recommend! And hope to return :)

Oregon Country Cabin Nature Retreat

Shasta and Jason are the coolest. Their cabin tucked up the hill sits over their property, this cozy cabin is the perfect getaway if you are passing through Eugene. Its a little piece of heaven, offering Hipcampers with the option to feel like they can be in the outdoors or tuck away indoors. With a complete kitchen, wooden stove, games, books, music console, I feel guilty saying that I would have been happier staying indoors all day!! However, for those with cabin fever, there are a few community trails leading to Christmas tree farms as far and wide as the eye can see, bike trails that Jason is currently carving out if you're the avid cyclist like he is. Fern ridge lake is a few short miles, perfect to lay a blanket out and read or have a picnic or bird watch. A couple of wineries surround the area as well. Shasta and Jason have literally thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, and feel like this is your home away from home! (:
