Come pitch your tent or tents (there's plenty of room) at our working horse ranch located just one mile from Smith Rock State Park.  Enjoy views of the Cascades or Burma while camping on the large grassy lawn next to our quaint farm house.  Your camp site is across the fence from our pastures where horses or cows peacefully graze.   A small irrigation canal runs along the border of the campsite.  This canal has water in it at all times during the summer months.  (This could pose a risk to very small children).  Electricity, drinking water, porta-potty and Wi-Fi are available.

Famous for its rock climbing opportunities, Smith Rock State Park will not disappoint.  Breathtaking hikes are unlimited and even swimming holes along the Crooked River offer refreshment after a day of hiking or climbing. Bring your bikes and bike to Smith Rock since parking can be limited at times. Or bring your mountain bikes and enjoy miles and miles of mountain trails just minutes away.

Our little horse ranch featuring a vintage red barn is nestled in ranching country where livestock and wildlife abound.  Views of Smith Rock and the Cascades are prominent as you venture around the area.

We like to brag that we can offer the "best of both worlds."  A peaceful, rural, western feel prevails, yet we are a stone's throw away from the vibrant town of Redmond  (about 10 minutes).  Redmond offers numerous restaurants, sushi bars, coffee shops, micro breweries and fantastic city parks including a water feature splash park for the kiddos.  There is an abundance of antique stores and other shopping as well.  The world renowned town of Bend is an easy 30 minutes away (Bend speaks for itself).

Smith Rock is not the only activity nearby.  We are located right next door to one of the area's premier organic grass fed working cattle ranches.  The DD Ranch raises 100% grass fed/finished beef and lamb, heritage pork and eggs from free range chicken.  (items vary depending on availability and season).  They also offer local raw honey.  The DD ranch store is open daily and on the weekends in the summer.  Their petting zoo, kids' playgrounds and pony rides are great activities for young kids.  Stroll on over straight from your camp site to the DD Ranch through the cow pastures.  Enjoy the activities for the kids, purchase some meat and bring it back to cook for dinner!  Now that's what you call farm-to-table!  (Please see their website for further information and schedules).

Speaking of farm-to-table, well more like farm-to-closet, the Crescent Moon Ranch is just 5 minutes away!  Crescent Moon Ranch raises champion Alpacas.  Visitors can conduct their own self-guided tour of the ranch getting up close and personal with the animals.  Then visit the Alpaca Boutique right there on the ranch.  Customers can get their hands on all things made from alpaca fibers.  Alpaca fiber is one of the rarest and most treasured natural fibers in the world.  Witnessing the alpacas in the field and then the products on the shelf brings the operation full circle for visitors.

If you forgot to pack the butter or don't feel like cooking, no worries!  We are located just 5 minutes from the small town of Terrebonne.  Terrebonne offers a grocery store and several restaurants including The Pump House Bar and Grill, a local favorite.

If adrenaline rushes are your thing, how about the tallest commercial bungee jump in North America! Just 9 miles down the road from camp, you can meet up with Oregon Bungee.  They offer bungee jumps from the bridge at P.S. Ogden Scenic viewpoint 300 feet above the Crooked River.  Jumpers dive 250 feet over the Crooked River.  Check their website for their schedule and rates.

There are so many activities to do in our area, I just can't mention them all.  World class fly fishing, boating, whitewater rafting, hiking, mountain biking, trail riding and more.  (Please see additional information on what this area can offer under the activities icons in this listing.)

So bring your bikes, your climbing gear, your horses, your boats, your ATVs or whatever.  We have plenty of parking for all your toys and horse boarding is available at an additional cost.  We look forward to meeting you!

Linda's property is great for a quick trip to Smith Rock when you are looking for a reservable campsite. She was a gracious host, she communicated with us before arrival and made sure we had clear directions to her ranch. She is only a couple miles from Smith Rock, so this is a perfect base camp for climbers and hikers. The site is on the lawn next to the main house so we felt like we needed to keep our voices down, and it lacked privacy and seclusion, but it was a very welcoming environment with plenty of space for 3-4 tents.

Response from Linda, the Host, on May 22nd, 2018

Thanks Nicole! We enjoyed having you. Thanks for your review. As you mentioned, the campsite is located on the lawn next to our farmhouse. I made sure to mention this right off in our property description as well as including pictures of the house showing the proximity to the campsite. If a person is looking for seclusion this is not the site for them, however if they don't mind being next to our house i think campers will find our place peaceful and relaxing. Again thanks for the review!! Take care. Linda

This is a prime spot right by Smith Rock State park! We have camped at the BLM first come first serve campgrounds near smith rock before, which are nice but extremely dusty which can get annoying especially if you have dogs. Linda's property is gorgeous with great views of the cascades and parts of smith rock. The area for your tent is awesome soft and grassy and the table provided was so nice. It was nice to have a porta-potty available and we were able to beat the crowds at smith rock because we were so close! 100% would recommend and it's fun to watch the horses.
