The "Love Farm" (River Runs Through It) was a fantastic stay! We slept great with the gentle sound of the river that flows right by camp. Easy to get to and a short drive from Eugene. Richard and Luana were wonderful hosts. They showed us around their property and the three available campsites. They have put a lot of work and careful thought into the campsites, including two available compost toilets for use. Two of the sites have a fire pit and also available at the site we stayed at was a table and two camp chairs. The river is gorgeous and it is such a peaceful campsite. We felt welcomed and will definitely be recommending Luana and Richard's site to folks we know. It exceeded our expectations. So far this is our favorite Hipcamp site and we would love to return. A+!!!
My wife and I reached The Love Farm on an early autumn evening - the weather for the most part was slightly cloudy with the sun playing the occasional peek-a-boo. The property is lined with gorgeous trees which have shed a little more than half its leaves, painting the ground rustic gold.
The first stop, just a minute or two drive from the front entrance, is the residence of Luana and Richard. We were greeted by Luana, whom then drove us around her residence to show us our private little plot of land which runs adjacent to the Willamette river. There, we were awe-struck by the Renoir-like landscape, with many thoughtful touches that made the stay warm, safe, and convenient. The water was much too cool to swim in, but I can only imagine how much fun a dip in the waters would be in warmer weather.
There is a fire pit with firewood and some firestarter provided for our stay, along with a pair of campchairs and a table. A surprisingly clean vault toilet is provided (lined with a plastic bag), with toilet paper kept dry in plastic Tupperware. We let the fire burn into the evening, and despite not being able to see the stars that night because of cloudiness, there was very little light pollution from the surrounding area, at least for what our eyes could render.
Alas, our one night stay was cut short as we had to jettison to our next checkpoint along our road trip, but we do look forward to our return to The Love Farm in the foreseeable future. Cheers.
This campsite is truly a hidden gem. We only stayed one night, but I wish it had been longer. When we arrived, Luana and Richard greeted us and showed us around the campsite. The space was amazing, and literally right next to a river and under the trees. Super secluded, with no other campers around (although every once in a while people would float by down the river, it wasn't often at all). It was a lovely space and we couldn't have asked for more from a campsite. Would highly recommend!!!
This was such a nice secluded area. Exactly what we were looking for. Luane and Richard were wonderful and very helpful. If you are looking to get away by yourselves. I recommend a river runs.through it in creswell
Was my first camping trip this summer and it exceeded my expectations. We had a choice of 3 spots and we selected the farthest spot by the river because of our group and dogs. Private and even in 92 degree weather we were cool by the water. Our dogs had a blast swimming around and exploring the property. I would recommend bringing some durable water shoes as the rocks can be a little jagged in certain parts of the water. Had a wonderful time. Thanks Richard and Luana.
Really lovely spot with conscientious hosts. A bit "buggy" for us though. Bring ear plugs in case the wind pushes the trees around at night. River is clear and beautiful, with a thigh high swimming spot just upstream. Wished I had brought "donuts" for the river. At the site were two chairs, a table, and a compost toilet with paper. Thank you Richard and Luana!
We live in Eugene so it was a quick drive over ! Campsite was pretty and very private loved the private little area on the river below site. Upon arrival Richard greeted us and was very friendly and welcoming.
