Cows are great neighbors
If you’re looking for seclusion, this is the place for you. We had a great time just hanging out, hiking around the property and letting our dog run free. We saw a deer on one of our walks and woke up to a heard of elk passing by one morning. There are a few trees next to the bunk house that are perfect for stringing up a hammock.
Things to know: There’s a ton of foxtail around that can get stuck in a dog’s nose, eyes and ears. Our dog sniffs *everything* so we invested in a fox guard net from Outfox and felt much better letting him run around.
The fire pit is awesome and super deep so if you’re planning on roasting marshmallows, bring a long stick. We may or may not have gone through an entire bag...
There’s a generator behind the cabin that was fueled up which was great to have for a little lighting and charging devices at night.
If it’s dry, bring more water than you think you need (we had to go into Dallas for more), and plenty of TP.
Brent was a perfect host, super nice, very responsive and we picked up some steaks and jerky to take home and can’t wait to eat them.
We would definitely come back. The only thing that would make it better is a behind-the-scenes tour of how the ranch works.
You must not miss this place !!
Brent and his farm are absolutely incredible. The place was beyond my expectations ! It’s out in the middle of
Nowhere ( yet you get a strong signal ) and the views go on for miles.
There is NOBODY around ! the cabin is clean , cozy and well built. The fire pit is deep and has seating.
There’s a generator if you need electricity.
There’s wildlife all around - we had deer and coyotes come through, it was so good for the soul.
Brent makes it a simple easy to follow process and he’s so welcoming ......you feel like a wanted guest !
Plenty of firewood and they sell jerky right at the farmhouse :)
We’re already booking to go back , one of the top places I’ve stayed.
What a perfect weekend! The cabin is perched on the hill with a gorgeous view of the ranch and the coastal range and is completely secluded. The weather was a mix of sun and rain, but it didn’t matter because the covered porch kept us dry and the wood stove kept us warm. The ranch is just beautiful and Brent and his son are amazing hosts. We will definitely be back!
Great view, private, peaceful
Beautiful view on a beautiful property. The bunkhouse has two cots, a dining room table, a counter and wood stove. My only complaint would be the ground isn't the best to pitch a tent on. It is uneven and rocky so you might want to bring air mattresses if there are more than two going. This was not an issue for us and I would definitely recommend this site to those looking for a quite, peaceful getaway.
I had such a great time at Flying F ranch! Brent was an incredible host and the cabin was great! There was a wood burning stove inside and a fire pit outside, a generator for power, comfy cots. The location was about two miles from anything! So quiet and serene. I saw a deer, walked through the forest, saw a baby cow, it was so relaxing and fantastic!
Wonderful getaway will amazing view
We had such an amazing weekend at Brent’s place. The small cabin and surrounding area was so private and secluded- it was about 5-10 min drive from where we met Brent. Loved being able to keep our dogs off leash the whole weekend and we enjoyed meals over the fire and s’mores every night. Brent and his son were such hospitable hosts. The view and sky might have been the best part. Even when it rained we enjoyed the view of the rolling hills from the awning. There were two cots but we brought our own trifold sleeping mats :)
Amazing view, quiet and comfortable
A piece of heaven, looking across the valley, surrounded by meadows, trees and lowing cattle.
Our host met us en route and escorted us to the bunkhouse a few miles away. The location is stunning, with a clean and practical bunk house, plenty of firewood, a fire pit and friendly animals!
It was by far and away the best night of our trip!
All by yourself under the stars
I love this spot. Came with a group of 4 and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Secluded location on a hill with beautiful views and amazing sunsets, bunkhouse has a table, 2 cots and electricity via a generator. There is a well kept outhouse on the property. Large outdoor fire pit, plenty of logs to sit on and firewood to burn. Brent is an incredible host, answered all our questions and even gave us his own jerky! We loved it here, there is nobody else for miles. It is a hillside so you need to be strategic where you set up a tent but there’s plenty of spots it works. We will be back for sure! Amazing getaway for the night or weekend
Beautiful ranch cabin!
We had an amazing weekend at the Flying F ranch! Brent was a very responsive and friendly host! The cabin is so beautiful and full of everything you need for a simple camping trip. Cows grazed through our front yard the first evening and we roasted mallows inside using the wood stove when we got cold outside! I hope to come back!
