With a cool breeze off the river and a cherry tree to pitch your tent under, the orchard around Stomp is a beautiful place to camp. The orchard is located on the Willamette River well away from the ambient lights of the city allowing you a clear view of the night sky. Along with the sounds of the dog, chickens (no rooster yet), crickets, birds, frogs, and occasional coyote there is also a train track running on the other side of the road that is still in use. The train schedule is unpredictable and can run as early as 5 AM, they do occasionally have to blow the train whistle due to wildlife on the tracks.
There is a fire ban so bring a camp stove. Any swimming or water sports will be at your own risk, no water equipment or lifeguards will be provided. We are located about 4 miles from Independence Oregon and 7 miles from Salem Oregon on the Willamette River.

The vibe at Orchard Camping on the River
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Cool camping spot on a giant orchard. Easy to access and well organized. It's a short walk down to the river for a quick dip. They're working on a bathroom and shower so that'll be up soon!
