Our beautiful 97 acres on the mountainside was involved in a forest fire a few years ago which destroyed our home and most of the trees! Some remain and the wild grasses and lush vegetation have come back beautifully! There are severally places to camp! We have a sm natural Lake about the size of a football field with trout and a beaver family and muskrat too!! The wild ducks also enjoy their home there!! Geese in the spring and fall st

op by on their journey north or south!! There is a huge beautiful rock formation as a back drop above the lakeside for climbing and better viewing!! On up the mountain are places to hike to allow you to feel like you are on top of the world!! At the very top is a huge cistern that is 60x 120 ft and 10 ft deep that is fed by springs for water and if your are adventurous for a brisk swim if you bring a ladder to climb out!! Lol. When my children were in high school they would have skinny dipping parties and the boys would have secret beer bash I found out years later!! Lol the view from all points is spectacular of the gorgeous backside of canyon mountain!! It is truly spectacular!! If you love nature at its best and live to hike and explore, this is the place for you!! The small town of John Day is only 7 miles away with amenities and a museum of the gold rush days and a famous Kam Wa Chung museum featuring the original Chinese doctor who lived and treated all the local s back at the turn of the century! Also an hours drive is the painted hills for more spectacular hiking and a fabulous museum of fossils and history of the surrounding mountains!! It's truly amazing!! Our hidden getaway is where people love to come where there are no city lights and nature at its best! Not much cell reception either! Lol. Eastern Oregon is the place to R&R that's for sure!!

Entrance was inaccessible, and we did not end up staying here. This location should not currently be available to reserve. The area around it is beautiful.
