If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Salmon Valley lookout is a gorgeous area to camp at. The site is private and well maintained. The view is very pretty, especially during sunset. The cool thing about this site is that you are minutes from Mt. Hood. Great places to hike in the surrounding areas consist of Mirror Lake, Salmon River trail and of course Mt. Hood. It does get pretty chilly out here, so pack extra layers.
So close yet far enough!
Salmon Lookout was a fantastic spot. We always tent camp dispersed, further up the mountain(s), but this was a welcome, easy jam from the city, with all the amenities we’d ever need near by,. Yet we felt like we had our own private loge for stunning sunsets that set the passing clouds ablaze behind silhouetted pines. The layout allows you to alternate between the hillside fire pit, nestled next to some grand boulders suitable for perching, and the quiet, starry front porch of the adorably-appointed platform tent. The easy access and location mean you can easily bring all the stuff you might not usually schlep up to camp like tables, stoves, Dominion, and badminton. Have fun! We did!
Absolutely stunning canyon views! Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to snag time away from life on their own private campsite. Check-in was a breeze and the personal touches of fresh flowers to greet us made this camping experience so much more inviting. Tucked away on a secluded lot. This beautiful tent made for a wonderful evening for some travels nurses looking to explore all that Oregon has to offer. Thanks again for such an amazing stay.
This campsite is lovely. The tent, couch, camping chairs, etc were all very nice. It is nice and private - though the other tent was full of people our entire stay, we never saw nor heard them, and our dogs were able to roam freely without bothering anyone. The cots are uncomfortable, so definitely bring your usual camping pads. My biggest complaint is that the price is a little high for no running water.
This was a beautiful and very private spot perched on the hillside with incredible view from the tent. The tent itself was very comfortable with lots of personal touches like fresh flowers and bug spray provided.
A great hipcamp experience.
We absolutely loved staying at the tent cabin! The view is incredible and it truly feels like the perfect getaway while still being close to the hikes and different places we wanted to see. Rachel was very kind and easy to communicate with. I could not recommend this place more!
