The vibe at Salmon Valley Hideout...Mt Hood
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Staying at Salmon Valley Hideout was a very cozy experience. It was so nice to have the large tent set up and ready as soon as you arrived. The cot, camp chairs and camp sofa were a really nice touch. There were solar night lights that surrounded the campsite. It was tucked away in a lush forest, it was very private with a locked gate. There was an outhouse that was easy to walk to, and a fire pit with wood that Rachel provided which kept us warm all evening.
It is a short walk to an incredible canyon view where fog hung heavy in the morning, and the sunset provided a multicolored backdrop. The Salmon River Trail is near this camping spot. Mt.Hood Skibowl is a 15-minute drive. If you are looking for a cozy spot at any season to snag a bite to eat or drink I would recommend Skyway Bar which is about 5 minutes from the campsite.
It was also great for pets. We will be back soon!
The Salmon Valley Hideout was a great place to stay. It felt very private, and was extremely well maintained. It is very close to some gorgeous hikes at Mt. Hood National Forest, and fairly close to a local grocery store if you forgot anything. A true hidden gem on Hipcamp. Highly Recommended!
We absolutely loved the Salmon Valley Hideout! The site was picturesque, meticulously maintained and nicely tucked away with views of mount hood just a hop away. We adored everything about the visit and are already planning our next trip back!
