The vibe at Red Truck Ranch
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Carolyn is a great host. There are several different areas to park an RV or campervan or pitch a tent. There's even a little shed with lofted beds. The farm has several horses, ponies, chickens, and a pup. Just off a main road and close to downtown Bend, but feels very secluded.
Carolyn and her daughter were great hosts! We felt very welcome and safe. The place is beautiful. If you are sensitive to noise, you should know the property is a short distance back from highway 20 and we heard constant traffic during the day and intermittent traffic at night. We all slept fine though. And the location was very convenient from Bend (5 or 10 minutes drive) on the way to Sisters. I would definitely recommend staying here. We had a great experience.
Carolyn and her husband couldn’t have been nicer. We had hoped to get a site at Tumalo Campground and it was full. I saw this site on hipcamp and Carolyn responded in less than 5 min. We were 2 min away. Instead of being at a crowded campground we had a huge backyard to ourselves. My children loved being so close to horses and chickens. Carolyn even brought us scones the first of our two mornings. It was a great experience and there were no mosquitos!!
Very communicative host. Cute farm and anmals. The campsites are nice - mine had a large table and a little area with a few chairs. The only slight downside is that it isn't too far away from the a main road that gets a bit of traffic noise. If you are a super light sleeper and not used to that, you might consider bringing earplugs or headphones while sleeping. Wasn't a problem for me, but could see a few folks be surprised by it.
Great place! Carolyn is a super sweet host. My camp site was nice and spacious. The only thing I will say is that road boardering the land is quite noisy with cars. I just used ear plugs tho and slept just fine!
