About North Mountain Falls Mt. Hood
This walk-in campsite is located in Rhododendron Oregon in the Mt. Hood Foothills on 80 acres of land surround by BLM land on 3 sides of the property. Hike up from the campsite to see incredible views of the Welches Valley or travel miles of BLM land with wildlife galore. This campsite is situated along a year round creek with a view of a waterfall and is as pristine as it gets. Listen to the tranquil sound of water flowing. This is the perfect campsite to stay cool in the summer; it's shaded, and nestled into a cove. The campsite is a quick uphill 5 minute walk from the main house and meadow where parking is provided but totally private and secluded. You wont see or hear another soul. There are many hiking trails nearby including a well know mountain biking trail 5 minutes down the way (Sandy Ridge Trailhead). Zig Zag, Salmon and Sandy rivers close by. 20 minute drive to Government Camp. This is a serene private camping experience...We can help haul your gear at your request.
FYI: No toilet at campsite but there is one available at the shop below. A bit of a hike or short drive.

The vibe at North Mountain Falls Mt. Hood
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Big thanks to Rachel and her family for hosting us. We really appreciated you help moving our stuff up to the camp site. The site is amazing. So nice to be by the creak and to be all alone so our kids could be kids. We look forward to doing it again next year.
THIS is what Hipcamp is about. Period. Simon and Rachel have over eighty acres of mountain property near Mt. Hood they're extremely excited to share! When you're there, you feel as though you've found the most incredible hidden gem... because you have. I've never camped in a more beautiful location. Seriously. The camp spots are RIGHT next to the creek barreling down the hill from the perfect waterfall. This is the kind of thing you would be thrilled to discover after a ten mile backpacking trip, but it's right here!! A mere 5 minute walk up the hill from the parking area will take you to your magic. Stacked wood is provided for when the fire ban ends (we will be back!), as well as convenient areas to sit and enjoy your meal, and hiking paths that will take you miles deep into the property. This is the most PERFECT location. We dug a hole for our business as the provided toilet was a bit too far down the hill, but Simon is planning to build some facilities for toilets and possibly showers. Simon sent his son up to inquire if we needed help carrying our gear down with the tractor they used to help us on the way up, but we opted for a multi-trip trek since we'd narrowed down our pile the night before. Although it rained on us all morning, I would have stayed to enjoy the deeper colors of beauty that leave you awe-struck and DEFINITELY wanting to return.
Very beautiful spot and very nice hosts.
Three big dogs that were friendly. Campsight is right next to a loud creek so if you are a sensitive sleeper bring ear plugs.
The only draw back was that the hill to walk up was super steep so they take all your camping stuff up on a tractor, which is cool.
The main complaint is that the bathroom was so far away that I can't imagine anyone really using it....but they said they r planning to build a composting toilet.
Amazing views in a seren environment.
