Owl Creek Cabin is a secluded mountain getaway in the Southern Cascades east of Ashland Oregon. It's a perfect place for a creative retreat where solos or couples can leave the distractions of their everyday world behind. You'll be greeted when you arrive, walk a short trail to the cabin, and be shown how to use some of its features such as the outdoor firepit, grill, and attic sleeping loft. In snow season (December to May) you'll need all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive with all-weather tires. The roads and driveway to the cabin are plowed and kept in good shape but there will be packed snow on the road at our elevation - 4600 feet. Please arrive by 8 pm. Enjoy a glass of wine or mug of cocoa around the fire pit (NOTE: September through May we provide a propane fire pit), a great way to unwind, relax and appreciate the nature around you. The cabin is stocked with dishes, and a mini kitchen with a toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, electric kettle, and coffeemaker. A picnic table and gas grill with a skillet and saucepan allow outside cooking and dining. The outdoor soaking tub is open June thru Oct. The cabin is equipped for comfort and is surrounded by forestland with miles of trails. Nearby Howard Prairie Lake and Lake of the Woods offer boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing with hiking trails around. It’s a scenic drive to beautiful Lake of the Woods on the way to Crater Lake National Park. Situated on five wooded acres, the cabin is next to a seasonal creek and adjacent to open BLM forested lands. You can hike out the door or drive 10 miles to catch the Pacific Crest Trail, or the trailhead to Grizzly Peak with views of the Rogue Valley and the Siskiyou Mountains. Trail maps are provided. The cabin accommodates up to 4 guests.Located in the mountains above Ashland, Oregon, this, cozy private cabin is a welcoming getaway for solos, couples, and families looking for a cabin in a natural setting, or an inspiring retreat. The cabin, surrounded by Douglas Fir and a conifer forest, offers solitude, fresh air, and plenty of wildlife. A firepit with Adirondack chairs functions year-round. The outdoor clawfoot tub is wonderful for an outdoor soak. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use but not for streaming movies and games. Mobile phones connect through WiFi. The cabin is non-smoking. Children 8 and up are welcome. Our 5-acre property is adjacent to public land managed by BLM and near recreational areas with miles of trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, 10 miles away. Nearby Howard Prairie and Hyatt Lakes offer fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and hiking trails. Local trail guides are provided. Nearby Willowdale Ranch offers guided horseback trail rides with a spectacular view of Mt. McLoughlin. A scenic 20-minute drive will take you to Lake of the Woods where you can dine, hike, kayak, and fish. Crater Lake National Park is 1-1/2 hours away. A 40-minute drive will take you back to Ashland for shopping, dining, and OSF plays. You’ll be greeted when you arrive and briefly introduced to some of the cabin's unique features, including attic stairs to the windowed sleeping loft. The coffee cart kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. An outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan allows grilling and limited cooking. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided.
