Steps to the steelhead/ trout hatchery and fishing in the river. It’s quiet and peaceful here. Close travel to deer and elk hunting (sorry, no hunting on the property). Must be self contained, no hookups. No fires please, as it’s a dry field. Note: this field is an open area, and is not “exclusive” use. Campers from my Riverside and Grove sites will access water, outhouse, garbage at this field, and are allowed use for games, stargazing, and other recreational purposes. I will also allow multiple bookings in the field. This is however a quite large field so there is plenty of space to spread out. If my Riverside site is occupied, acccess to the river is not allowed there, but is easily available upstream 200 yards at the swimming hole.

Great opening overlooking fields and peaks. Parked in my jetta which I camp in, opened up the hatch and enjoyed the sunset. Took a dip in the swimming hole a few hundred yards away, and was greeted by small fish and the sight of bald eagles.

Quite, private and serene area right off the main road. Pictures won't do it justice, will be back again!

(Allergy info) the RV site is adjacent to a group of controlled beehives. I had some flying friends buzzing around my car, but was never bothered. However I understand this could be a concern for others.

Thank James! Glad you like the Meadow! A word about bees. First, thanks for letting folks know about this as it can be important for some. The “bees” you experienced were most likely Yellow Jacket wasps. They’ve been particularly prolific this year everywhere. They like meat and any sweet foods, and are seen all over the ground, where they live in burrows. We’ve got traps out, and they fill within days! The honey bees in the field next door would rarely go anywhere near you, they “beeline” for the water to cool the hive, or to plants for nectar. They don’t seem to buzz around people or look for our food. They are quite passive. You can tell them as they are smaller, duller colored, and not as energetic.

I had such a fun time at the campsite, I will definitely be going back. Our host was such a great guy, we had rv trouble while in town and he did everything possible to help us get it running again. The site itself was the perfect place to stargaze and take in nature. I can’t wait to go back!

Thanks Gabe! Sure hope you and your new bride can visit soon, only next time without quite so much “adventure “.
