Please note our property entrance/bridge is currently under construction and guests must use a separate entrance. With this, we cannot accept RV's that are longer than about 26' feet as the turn is too tight. We can accept small rv's or short tent trailers, and tents with portable toilets. Apologies for the temporary inconvenience.

The Property

This is a beautiful property with chirping birds, a quiet creek, and nature all around. We have two large fields with multiple, unmarked sites that we allow guests to choose from. Our front field is better for larger RV's but is closer to the street. The back field is better for tent campers and smaller RV's and is more secluded from the street.

We are a family-owned, small private farm and live here full time as well but have plenty of space to share with people.

A large pool, outdoor fire pit, and gas grill are all available for use. Please feel free to walk the grounds, explore the gardens, visit the goats, and explore!

There is no public restroom available. (Outdoor shower and toilet coming Summer 2021.)

We welcome dogs but the property is not fenced. The front of the property towards the road is lined mostly with a pond but the rest of the property is open.

A few dogs live here including a German Shepard who lives outside and occasionally barks when guests arrive. We have several other dogs as well who roam about throughout the day. While they do have boundary collars, we recommend not leaving anything highly valuable out on the ground in the open. Please feel free to shoo them away and say no if they are a bother. We also have a dozen free range chickens who wander all about, if your dog is prone to eating them, we advise to keep your pup tethered. Dogs are required to be in your tent, rv, or car with you at night as our 9 acres of wooded forest at the edge of the property may have things unfriendly to dogs. :)

- Latest arrival time is 8pm - if you plan to arrive after 8pm please provide advanced notice. If you need to arrive past 9pm, a $20 late check-in will be added.

- Max 30 amps output available

- Max RV length - approx 30-35' for easy access. Larger RVs will need special access via a different road that requires permission and coordination.

- Quiet time on the property is around 10pm - please keep parties and loud noise down, or if at a more distant site, contained to your area if it's far enough from other campers.

We are off a relatively busy street so there is some road noise. In addition, this is a working farm so there will be occasional tractor/tool noise.

We can be available to assist with anything you need. Otherwise it's likely we will be around working on the farm and fixing up things around the property.

Other things to note

This 3400 square foot, single level home was designed for the owners of what was Salem's largest private employer by architect Robert Byrd and completed in 1954. It boasts a unique style and history shared with other Byrd homes located around Hollywood and built for celebrities. Byrd's designs often incorporate curved elements (windows, eaves, and walls) and extensive brick work. Many of the used bricks from a now demolished Oregon State Penitentiary show foundry marks from the 1860's and 70's. It is a working farm and has many on-going projects on the property as we continue to improve it for ourselves and our guests.

Don't know if this private campground is available when there isn't a total solar eclipse but we sure enjoyed staying there. There's a nice pool, dogs running around, lovely hosts, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Would be even better with showers, hot water in sink, and more than one portapotty.

This place was great! The hosts were very welcoming, and it was the perfect place to camp out and view the eclipse. Would come back in 80 years when there's an eclipse again!

Easy going hosts from the time we arrived. Helpful, friendly and let us explore the property on our own. Ideal for dog owners who like their dogs off leash and need to them to catch up on their exercise while traveling. This location would be our first choice when traveling thru Salem again.

Beautiful grounds souranded by nature. Lots of friendly animals for kids to visit and play with. Our favorite were adorable chickens that allowed us to pet them. The hosts were amazing. Super friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They let us use their pool, land, and they answered all our questions. Very positive experience.

The hosts were great! Very accommodating, friendly and helpful, even allowed us to have visitors for a few hours. Treated our visitors like their own guests.

The site was awesome, we were the only ones there one of our two nights. Got set up in a private corner of the front lawn, had a small creek in front of us. Lots of birds all around, saw 2 deer within 50 feet of our spot.

Our dogs loved roaming the grounds and got along really well with the resident pups that came down to our site to say hello a few times during our stay.

There was a bit of road noise but was easy to ignore, plenty of birds chirping. While at the property we felt like we were deep in the country but surprisingly very close to town.

We would definitely stay here again. Combination of super friendly and accommodating hosts and perfect grass setup for our RV made it well worth the trip and money.
