The vibe at Breathtaking Sanctuary
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We really enjoyed Breathtaking Sanctuary. Francine was an awesome host, she was very accommodating to all of our needs. She brought out a lamp when she realized we had forgotten one, gave us tons of wood that was ready to be used throughout the night. Introduced us to all of the goats, and had great food and wine recommendations for the area. We ended up checking out a couple of the wineries and they were really quick and easy to get to. She also gave us a map of the region and suggestions for tons of activities that we could do. Which included: Henry Haag Lake State Park, and a tree-to-tree obstacle course. There are a couple of other sites on Mountain View's Paradies and they are each quite different and awesome in their own ways. The house is located pretty close to this campsite. If you want a more secluded location I would check out the Babbling Brook. You have access to the fire pit, comfy chairs and the pond in the lower portion of the property. There are a couple of other dogs on the property, and they were all really friendly towards ours. Lastly, it was really awesome to hear tons of coyotes howling throughout the night. We would definitely camp again at this spot and it was truly a pleasure to meet Francine.
From the moment we (my wife and I) arrived I knew we came to the right spot. Francine was right there to welcome us. Francine introduced us to everyone and all the goats and fur babies. It was a great serene experience from the view of nature, to dip in the pond to the beautiful plants and trees that were all around. This is definitely one for the books.
Thank you Francine for your hospitality and for a great experience.
The highlight for my family was undeniably the goats, and Rosie in particular! Francine was extremely welcoming and, if you are looking for a very easy camping set up, this is the place to choose. You have access to water and firewood is available as well. We were maybe expecting a bit more of a rugged and somewhat more private camping area but happily settled for a spot behind Francine's house, close to the annex where a toilet and sink were available. Both my children (11 and 15) spent a good portion of the afternoon in the lake at the bottom of the property and seemed to have enjoyed that as well. Thank you, Francine, for providing us with a lovely place to spend a couple of nights before the beginning of the school term.
