If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We stayed at the group site, called River Rock. The site was really big with plenty of space for a group. James did a nice job creating tent sites and spreading fresh hay out to keep the dust down. We enjoyed our family weekend.
The river was so refreshing and easily accessible from the site (slippery rocks though, bring river shoes!)
Private, very clean porta-potty for our site & good hand washing station
Campsites were spread out enough to feel safe
Can hear the traffic from the highway
Site is right on the driveway, so no privacy from incoming/outgoing traffic and people walking by
"Beach" space in front of the group site was really dusty, not really a beach for kids to play on
Perfect group spot
So happy to have found Molalla Ripple available for our girly group camping trip. The space was perfect for us. We had multiple vehicles and a camper van. Other people have mentioned the gate and I would also agree that it is tight but my 19 ft van made it just fine. The group site is on one end of the “camping area” it was perfectly private with a couple of trails to take you to the river. There is a good swimming hole down the river a little and hanging out at the river was perfect. This time of year the water level is low so swimming in the “hole” felt safe. The site was clean, garbage cans and bags were provided. (pack out your own garbage) There is a clean port a potty and a big barrel of water for washing, potable water is also available. We had a great trip without the hassle of being in a noisy crowded campground.
Beautiful, spacious, and private
The site was great with lots of room for our group to spread out and put up several tents. Easy access to the river where the water was shallow (due to the time of year) but warm, clear and beautiful. The host drove by to check on us each day and asked if there was anything we needed which we didn’t because he had thought of pretty much everything. We had a great time!
Everything we hoped it would be!
River Rock was everything we hoped it would be for an August group camp trip. Easy access to a very kid friendly river. Great camp accommodations including trash cans, potable water - plenty even for hand washing, and a clean -potty just for our site. James was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our trip so much we didn’t want to leave and intend to book again!
We had the group site and it was fantastic. It was very helpful to read the previous reviews which meant we were prepared for dust, water shoes and what not. Kids and parents had a great time. The swimming hole is awesome. Paddle bot was super fun! James was a great host (kind and helpful at all times). We’ll definitely be back!
We had a group of 17 campers, this spot was really good for a large group, and the host had laid out fresh hay for the tent spots which was a nice touch. Plenty of space for tents to be separated, and the beach and the river is fantastic and has a fire pit down there too. There is also a small paddleboat that the owner lets you use. The host was helpful, brought us firewood (that we forgot to pre-buy) and answered a lot of our q's leading up to the weekend.
The traffic from the road can definitely be heard, so if you're looking for total seclusion this isn't the spot. But it is convenient to have a gas station/safeway a few miles away.
Finally, these are divisive times so just a heads up that you will be met with a trump flag at the front of the house. We all got along so it was not an issue for us.
Sweet riverfront group site
James' site on the Molalla River is awesome. Clean porta, fresh water, assistance when we needed it. The group site was brand new and there's a bit of a walk to the river. But the host is actively improving the site. Great location.
