Socially Distance you and your family while watching stunning sunrises and sunsets. Look out to the cliffs or walk in the sneeze-free-zone under the stone-face to your own private park-like setting. Breathe Nature's fresh air while hiking the property back side or practice yoga on the rocks! Take dinner up in the trails to a private setting with electric spool table and chairs. Or sit in the lower Adirondack chairs and lookout over the fields while enjoying the evening hour. Pull out the Papasan chairs and put them under the umbrella of huge juniper trees.

Nature abounds, the wake up call of a rooster and the bedtime music of the cicadas. If you're lucky deer families trek thru backyard trails. Quails are in abundance and they have the right of way! Take a hike only minutes away to the BLM or 10 minute drive to the famous Steelhead Falls. Want a bigger challenge, Smith Rock is only a 20 minute drive; golfing is nearby.

Best Hipcamp! Kathleen’s place is a slice of heaven. The site is beautifully situated with gorgeous views in every direction. She’s an incredible host that goes above and beyond to create opportunities for relaxing and taking in the nature (chairs set in various places on the mountain, even more avail in her shed.) We will be back!

Kathleen was a great host! She went out of her way to accommodate us. Her property is so peaceful! The scenery is beautiful. The horseshoe driveway is a breeze for maneuvering your trailer or motor home. The site is behind her home but had all the privacy we needed. We will definitely stay here again.

We loves staying with Kathleen. She was great with communication, very accommodating, and her place is a treat to experience. There is a fantastic trail system 1 mile away, and the canyon is gorgeous with rocky bluffs, sagebrush, juniper trees, quail, deer, birds, and more.

This is a location in the high desert with a single site, so privacy is no problem. There is food and entertainment about a mile away. But it's Kathleen who really makes this place memorable. She is welcoming and helpful.

We arrived very late but our host was able to give us good enough directions to find them in the dark. We woke up to a beautiful landscape.

Hornet Hollow, despite its name, is very quiet and restful. It's a beautiful setting, tucked beneath a rocky outcrop that's an easy scramble to great mountain views. Kathleen is the perfect host: friendly, helpful and respectful of privacy.

What a gem of a campsite! Staying at the Horny Hollow Hideaway was a slice of heaven on a gorgeous and peaceful canyon side high above the Crooked River Canyon. The site was the perfect size for our 17’ trailer and SUV and came equipped with an outdoor dining table and chairs as well as a pair of papasan chairs that we were encouraged to place around the property as we liked.

The location was very quiet and we barely noticed our host was there. Tons of wildlife including quail, howling coyotes, owls, bobcats and rattle snakes.

Kathleen, the host, couldn’t have been more lovely and accommodating. We had to move our reservation around several times due to trailer troubles and she was so easy to communicate with and work with. Upon arrival she was so welcoming and kind and even took extra special time to authentically engage with our 9 year-old.

We would 100% come back and since it’s only 20 minutes to Smith Rock from here, it might be sooner than later!

Kathleen was great! The little spot was very sweet and perfect for our needs. I have already recommended it to friends and family. And if we ever have the occasion to need a place to stay in that area again, we will be back!
My only surprise was that her house is closer to the camping spot than I expected. Other than that, everything was superb! Her attention to detail was very appreciated! We especially enjoyed the rocks and the view this place provides.
