This was my first hip camp experience and didn't know what to expect. It was really a great experience; it was more private and peaceful than I expected. I didn't know if I'd have to share a table and toilet with other campers, but each site had its own. The hosts were very helpful and friendly, and I enjoyed meeting the goats, llama and dog. Frank the Cat was otherwise engaged in busy farm work when I arrived. The site is near the Buxton trailhead for the Banks to Vernonia trail and I rode my bike a few miles on that. When I returned to camp, I spent a couple of hours dozing and day dreaming in the hammock which was really delightful. I heard owls throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the city. One thing to keep in mind is the road getting to the campsite is really bumpy, so if you have a car that sits low to the ground, you might have a tough time. My minivan made it OK, however.

Sara was a great guest. We are close to the Banks vernonia linear trail and Stub Stewart State Park. We have information and a brochure on them at the house as well as all the local restaurants.

The sites were large and private, though you could hear your neighbors near by easily it wasn't a problem. The hosts do sell quiet a bit out of their house. The pricing seems a bit arbitrary - we paid nearly 50 dollars to rent two bikes for 3 hours - that's more expensive than renting a car. Feels like there's a bit of 'let's see how much we can raise our prices before folks stop buying from us'. Wood was something like 6 dollars a bundle, kindling 1.50 a bundle, eggs 6 dollars a dozen. Those feel like standard and fair prices at least at the time that we camped with them (May 2020). If it's privacy you are seeking, this may not be the right place as the hosts may stop by your site to chat, and you'll go in their home to settle up your tab and they'll want to take you on a tour of the rooms they rent and their other amenities they upsell as part of their in home business. All in all, it was fine for our group but I could see for some that it might be a bit much if your goal of camping is to be isolated or private.

A word of advice - there's a frisbee golf course across the road. Look it up (Buxton Woods)!

Always sad to see someone not happy with their experience. Our pricing is not arbitrarily. We priced out the local rates for renting bicycles. That is how we decided what to charge. yes you can rent one car for what she rented two bicycles for that is true We do offer several things to purchase to make your camping experience more enjoyable. Out firewood is a lot for six dollars and some have suggested we raise it. We do also rent out rooms but seldom give tours and then only if asked. And we certainly do not want to intrude on your privacy. You do not have to come into our house and now that the weather is nice not as many do We do have a form to fill out so we know everyone that is on our property for insurance purposes and emergencies We might check in with you at times to see if you need anything. More water more firewood etc. But that is generally for longer stays than a couple of days. The campsites are very private several hundred yards apart and not visible though yes sound carries a long ways We strive to make our guests staying a good experience please tell us what you would like out of your stay. We get many return visitors that love our site and we are so happy for that

We had such a great time staying at the Oasis! The site was a perfect, secluded area down in Mark's pasture. There was plenty of shade, but also open areas where we could see the gorgeous stars at night.

Fire pit was perfect for cooking on, plenty of firewood provided at a great price (also a heavily wooded area we could collect our own in, as well), a fun hammock to relax in and a mini bathroom that was super handy to have close by!

We got to meet the baby goat, kitties, chickens, pups and geese as well - we were even sent off with some delicious homemade corncake! 10/10 would come back and stay here again - Thank you so much for having us!

The camp site we stayed at offered some nice tree coverage with still an open view for stargazing. A fire pit, potty, and hose for water was nice to have. Site was nicely secluded but just a short walk/hike in from the vehicle. We really enjoyed our stay!

Amazing! I first met Jenn on check-in and she is just simply open and completely welcoming. Gives good hugs too. Jenn walked me down to the site and showed me how everything worked. It was a great time to get to know her. The site was private as can be even though there were other campers in a near-ish site. The site was amazing with a hammock, fire pit (LOVE), portable toilet in a tent, solar shower (nice touch), rocking chair, picnic table, fire extinguisher, sand, water, drinking water, and the offer of a hose should i need one. Mark I met later as he stopped by to check in on me and let me know he was feeding the pigs should I want to join. Mark is an amazing guy, it was great to hear of his future plans for the property as it is truly amazing. If I needed anything I provided the phone number and cell number of the hosts. The property is just simply amazing. Big roomy sites, great pasture land, amazing trees, tons of space to explore on this farm. This was absolutely one of the best camping experiences I have had in a long time. I will be back.

The healing Oasis was a great place to stay. Beautiful private campsites. Mark and Jeniffer were awesome and acoomodating. They made us a wicked fire pit. You can sky watch and star gaze to your hearts delight. They offer fresh farm eggs, goats milk and bacon for a fair price. You can enjoy the surroundings and hang with the animals. A picnic table, hammock and camping toilet are all included in your personal site. Loved it and look forward to our return visit!

A pleasure staying here. The campsites are secluded, surrounded by trees and serene. Next time I will look to play frisbee golf. The rain drove me to rent an affordable room, sit in the hot tub. And see visions in the Pandora star. Beautiful getaway for me and my dog.

Mark is a great host. I felt safe ( as a single female camper) on his land. The site was private and spacious. He provides spring water and a cool flushable camp toilet that is inside a privacy bathroom tent. For a fee he offers firewood. The space was clean and peaceful and also is near some paved hiking trails that I checked out.
I’m definitely going to book another camping date on his land soon.
It’s not far to get to Mark’s land; I would say about 40 minutes from Portland.
