A private winding path leading to a garden oasis filled with loving details awaits you. A bedroom made w architectural details from the Victorian era (painted lady porch, sliding US Federal Building glass door, barn siding, etc..). The bed is EXTREMELY comfortable and the see-through roof allows the beauty of nature to be seen while lying in bed at sun-break or falling asleep to the moonlight. Twinkle lights around the roof provide a subtle starlight tranquility to lull you to sleep. The room is my dream bedroom outdoors - crafted with loving attention to details and offering serenity and comfort in my treasured garden. There is a shared bathroom on the main floor of the house that is equally charming and a short skip from the outdoor room. A mask must be worn at all times indoors when accessing the bathroom and wipes are provided for use to ensure the integrity of the space for cleanliness. There is a fridge in the space, hot water kettle, coffee, tea, nibbles and things to enjoy in your space - access to the main house kitchen is not available in the era of Covid.  **Please note that the space is both indoor and outdoor in that one of the shutters opens directly to the outdoors. It is kept warm with a fabulous, quiet space heater and is super comfortable in that it heats quickly but can be cold upon first arrival in the colder season.

INCREDIBLE PLACE & HOST! We arrived in the early afternoon and were greeted by Shannon and her four-legged companion Jaeger, a friendly blue weimaraner. Shannon was extremely welcoming and took the time to give us a full tour.
The small cabin is nestled into the far back corner of Shannon's property. Her attention to detail in the construction of the structure is what really set it apart. From the solid-wood victorian era door to the translucent corrugated ceiling, to call it a well designed space would be a dramatic understatement.
The main house is equally beautiful and Shannon welcomed us to share this space as well: A full kitchen, bathroom+shower, dinner table, and living room.
The sun wained and the temperature dropped to a very comfortable 75. We sat in the back yard, exchanged stories and drank beers. We lost track of time. It was close to 9pm and we were hungry so we asked Shannon for a recommendation. (A word of advice - Waiting this late was a bad call on our part. The restaurants in walking distance close at either 9 or 10. )
She suggested Sasquatch Brewing since they close later than most. We were not disappointed. Can't go wrong with Blackened chicken tacos and a hazy IPA.
We slept like logs and woke up to birds chirping and walls painted in early morning sunlight.

Shannon's garden retreat cabin was lovely, quirky, and a unique experience! It's located in her beautiful backyard with plenty of privacy and easy access to the restroom and shower in the house. The cabin was bigger than we expected, and bed very comfortable. The transparent roof was so cool- simply amazing to wake up to the sounds of the birds and rustling leaves from the tree overhead. Definitely recommend if you're stopping in Portland and looking for a different, quirky experience!

We LOVED this place! Not only is the space amazingly charming, but shannon and her pup are the coolest hosts ever. Shannon is an incredible resource if you’re in need of delicious restaurant recommendations or fun things to do around town. Her backyard is a magical oasis in the middle of the city. We genuinely enjoyed getting to know her and spending time in her enchanting home. We would love to return and highly recommend. Thank you shannon and jaeger for an unforgettable experience! <3

We had a wonderful stay at the Enchanted Garden retreat! It was so lovely waking up to the sunshine every morning! Our host was very welcoming and provided thorough instructions for getting access to the space. One note, if you choose to rent bikes overnight in Portland, beware that the house is located in a very hilly part of town!

Truly lovely accommodations! Impeccably clean, and also cozy, comfortable, sweet and very special. The host was friendly, accommodating and really interesting too. I loved the indoor-outdoor garden feel of the very special and inviting hideaway. I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend this to any friends looking for a really special place to stay. I wish it rained during my stay - I would love to see and hear the rain on the transparent roof!

After a couple weeks traveling and camping in a tent the comfortable bed was so nice. The location is a short drive to the downtown area and other neighbourhoods which was convenient for exploring Portland. Shannon was a great host with helpful recommendations.

Shannon and Jaeger (the pup:)) were lovely hosts. Very helpful with ideas on where to go and things to do. The outside bedroom was really fun to stay in. And the backyard was a real treat. My son loved playing with Jaeger and I enjoyed visiting with Shannon.
