Welcome! Estancia Serenova is a small rural retreat nestled in the forest land of Milton Creek Valley, only six miles west of Highway 30 in St. Helens, Oregon. It takes only an hour of drive out of most of Greater Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area to experience this serene environment close to nature and be rejuvenated. Our 20-acre forest land has deep roots in the history of Columbia County. Before the arrival of the Euro-Americans, this area was inhabited by the Chinookan first nations. The woods along the Milton Creek provided an economic boom for the early settlers along the Columbia River. Indeed, Milton was short for “Mill Town,” where a large sawmill was located. Nearby town of Plymouth was the first steamship port along the Columbia River, and the town prospered as a business and industrial center of Oregon. Later Milton merged with Plymouth to form the city of St. Helens. The land where Estancia Serenova stands today was once home of the late Dr. Dory M. Walrod (1921-2001), the town doctor of St. Helens and later one of the co-founders of the Columbia Humane Society. It was the original location of Columbia County’s first animal shelter where dogs and cats were kept for adoption, in addition to Dr. Walrod’s own llamas! At Estancia Serenova, we strive to help our guests create memorable and transformative experiences in a rustic yet elegant setting. Our philosophy for hospitality traces its roots in the Italian traditions. Agrotourism has become popular in Italy as well as in Latin American countries with a significant Italian heritage (Argentina and Uruguay). Estancia Serenova brings it to the Pacific Northwest. We have acquired this 20-acre land in the spring of 2015, and are gradually making it available for use by the community as well as by visitors from far and near.

We had a wonderful stay. Our cabin faced a beautiful serene meadow. We sat for hours enjoying the quiet and the view. We also enjoyed meandering through the orchard and up the hill stopping to snack on blackberries along the way. The cabin had a day bed that I found comfortable but was a tad short for my 6'4" companion. It also had a camping toilet but we also had access to a real bathroom in the main house, which was very convenient. We enjoyed meeting and getting to know our host and the other cabin visitors one night in the communal area around the fire pit. I would absolutely recommend this place and will be back to visit again.

I contacted Lisa before we decided to arrive and she was super patient, helpful and pleasant about all my questions ( and I had Quite a few). We arrived easily and found Lisa’s place, Estancia sere-nova farm, a abeutiful inspiring place. We especially loved The common space under the big wallnut trees. the outside cooking facility propane stove, running water and sinc was usfull. The cabin it self was simple but so pleasant to be in , the mattress was super comfortable , the linens were beautiful and soft and the meadow view is marvelous. We enjoyed hearing from Lisa about the place and her future plans for it. I eould definitely recommend this place for a head and heart recharge ❤️

We had a lovely stay in this cabin. The property offers a few different spaces to wander, including an orchard, a hike through the trees to a hilltop, and a meadow with a pond and a path that's perfect for running your dog. We loved the communal kitchen and shared outdoor living room. Lisa is a friendly and accommodating host - she made sure we were comfortable and gave us valuable information about all the amenities and spaces to enjoy on this special property.
