East Creek is home to a historic, 40 foot long wood burning kiln known as an Anagama. It fires for 5 continuous days with a crew of 30+ artists using 12 cords of wood per firing. It was built in 1983 and has served an educational mission ever since. The kiln, residences, and studio all support a vibrant community art practice that sees close to 1,000 visitors and participants per year, including high school, college, and graduate students.

    Safe, comfortable, clean
    Joe was amazing. He made us feel so comfortable during our stay. He invited us to be as involved or uninvolved as we wanted. The stay was super safe and clean. We had an amazing time. Hanging out with Joe and his dad around the fire really made our stay. Thank you again!

    So welcoming and cozy!
    Joe was so welcoming and the space was very lovely! Everything about our stay there was so wonderful and I would absolutely recommend staying here to a friend. I booked this trip for my partners birthday and asked Joe to put a "Happy Birthday" note inside the cabin for our arrival, and he had included a Huge card for us! It was really great and being able to see the pottery studio was very cool
