The vibe at Deer Creek House
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Rahmana is a super sweet host with an awesome piece of property! She took me to a secret local swimming hole, let me pick figs from the tree, and even cooked me a delicious organic breakfast! Even though this spot is her backyard, I saw more wildlife than I could have imagined! Deer roam freely, birds of all kinds, and of course her free range chickens and kitties roam the property. I set up my tent under the shade of a large walnut tree, but there are many spots to choose from. When she is home, the bathroom is free to use, and if not, there is an outhouse in the yard. I enjoyed walking around the property, picking berries, and laying in my tent listening to the wildlife. Because of all the animals, it was a lot for my dog to handle. If you're traveling with a dog that likes to chase chickens or cats, this may not be the best place for you. That being said, Rahmana is an animal lover and worked with me to let my dog roam once the chickens went to bed, which was very thoughtful.
