Enjoy the tranquility of the Cascade Mountains in this beautiful rural setting. Great for travelers who prefer a private place to park their home on wheels while traveling to Crater Lake National Park and the scenic Rogue-Umpqua area of the Cascades. Only 26 miles from the Crater Lake NP south entrance on the desirable Prospect side of the NP and most likely the closest private RV spot. Two miles outside of the little town of Prospect, along the waterfalls Hwy, 2 miles to the Rogue River (fishing and rafting), 2 miles to 3 waterfalls, 6 miles to Lost Creek Lake (boating and recreation), plus an abundance of serious hiking trails in nearby local area.
This serene and quiet spot consists of an open space nestled in beautiful mixed woodlands of mature doug fir, cedar, pine and madrone on our 100 ranch. (You won’t see our house or barn since this RV spot is on the other side of the property and away from the Ranch activity). It’s DRY, no power hookups, no toilets. Your RV must be fully self-contained. You must have your own toilet. “Pack in, pack out” is a must since this is a protected wilderness area. There’s a mix of sun and shade depending on the exact spot (within the designated area) you choose and the time of day. At approximately 2700 ft elevation, a fresh gentle breeze significantly cools the late afternoon and evening summer temperatures. Star-gazing is amazing. Most cell service carriers do get reception at this location, however, there is no WIFI.
This can be a pull-through-and-around area depending on the size of your vehicle. A long RV/trailer may need to make a y turn. Short distance nature trails in the adjacent woodlands can be enjoyed in the immediate area.
You will be alone in this no-frills spot. Just you and nature and your RV home. There are only two completely private designated RV spots (separated by acreage) on our property. Check out our other site as well "Meadow Dry RV site..."

Barbara and Dan’s property was absolutely gorgeous, with a pond, hiking trail, and forest. And they are exceptional hosts - responding to every request we had and doing everything possible to make sure we were comfortable and had a good time. We felt safe and comfortable, and will definitely book here again!
Morning yoga pond-side with dappled sun on lily pads and chorus of frogs; Gentle winds cooling us in the evening and whispering through the various tall swaying pines; Privacy, security and having it all to yourself away from it all. This place was phenomenal, we couldn't stop reflecting on the way home what a total reset it was from all the craziness in the World. I almost don't want the World to know about it. Daniel and Barbara were such gracious hosts. We will be back!!

Thank you for your beautiful description of the Turtle Pond RV site. We are always happy to share this paradise with others like you who appreciate nature and find it restorative. We are so happy to hear how much you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again.
Lovely private spot by the pond. Nice breezes and wildlife. Peaceful as can be!

Thank you, Rob. So glad that you enjoyed the peaceful spot and wildlife.
We loved our stay. The site is private and we appreciated the extra touches of Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and hammock. This is a great base camp to explore Crater Lake and surrounding area. We can’t wait to come back soon.

We were happy to host you, Nate. Thanks for taking good care of our woods and we hope to see you again soon.
Loved this spot! Very peaceful and private, with only the sounds of the birds and the pond frogs. Clear directions, welcoming & responsive host. Nice flat parking spot, with benches here and there among the cedar trees and berry bushes. Options for being in sun or shade. Wandered down to the pond to see the bullfrogs on their tiny lilypads. Cute picnic site set up under the big cedar trees- picnic table, hammock, two comfortable chairs - perfect place to enjoy the afternoon sun lowering across the pond!

Thank you so much, Tracy, for the great descriptive review. And thanks for taking such great care of our woodlands.
This place is a gem! But shh! I don’t want anyone to know! My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and it was magical. So magical, I booked another stay on the ride home. It was very private, quiet, and relaxing. Please never change a thing about this place. I will be coming here again and again :)

Thank you, Maddie. We love that you love the Turtle Pond site. Hope to see you again and again. We also love great guests like you!
Lovely private spot in the woods, with a picnic table, adirondack chairs, and hammock. Surprisingly good phone signal for a place that feels so remote. Great communication and directions from the hosts!

Thank you so much Audrey. We appreciate your review and thanks for taking such good care of our woodlands and pond site.
Beautiful, secluded, starry starry nights!

Glad you enjoyed those starry night skies. We were happy to host you. Thanks so much.
