Casa Del Rio
We booked Casa Del Rio as a last summer hurrah with our young daughters before the school year started back up. The smoke ban and recent cooling in temps had as yearning for a cabin and the location seemed idyllic!
Nathan was helpful and provided us with extra directions which came in handy as it being so remote meant there wasn't any cell service at the location.
However it quickly went downhill from there. We found stained/dirty bedding and towels and spent the first few hours of our stay cleaning. In the morning, we woke to make coffee, only to find leftover grounds and coffee in the coffee maker.
We knew from contacting our host (via his landline) to report the bedding, that no one had stayed in awhile and the next day when we sent an email to let him know the state of the house as we had paid a cleaning fee and obviously his service wasn't providing. To the host's credit, he acknowledged prior complaints to the cleanliness and needing a new service.
The cabin has potential because the location is awesome, but we'd caution guests from passing along their hard-earned money until after a deep cleaning and basic hosting etiquette's in place.
Beyond that there were snot stains on walls, dried urine stains on the toilet, layer of grease on cabinets… the list goes on.
It was a disappointing first Hipcamp experience. We joked that if we had actually camped it would've been more comfortable.

Casa Del Rio
Wonderful setting right on the river with a great deck to enjoy the birds and the view. Private, fenced yard works well for dogs.

Casa Del Rio
Less than an hour from Eugene and we had our own private slice of the Siuslaw River. The house itself is huge — two bedrooms and two full bathrooms (one is attached to the master bedroom and has a clawfoot tub!) It’s fully furnished so you can spend less time packing and more time on the river. There is a huge deck above the backyard overlooking the river, complete with a gas grill. The yard is fenced in so any four-legged friends can enjoy the property off-leash (**the path to the river is not gated, so be sure to keep an eye on ‘em.) The yard is also lined with blackberry bushes, so if you time your trip right you’ll have plenty to feast on.
