After being stuck in a city for 6 years, we finally made it back to the country. From the Midwest to Central Oregon, and now in a beautiful farm on the edge of Newberry Forest. Broken Top Farm raises Nigerian Dwarf goats and has all the other critters (chickens, dogs, cats, and some deer that we've managed to hand feed some corn to). On your visit, you can camp out with the goats (who get locked up at night). Bring your ATV or bike to hit the trails; load a paddle board and kayak to check out the amazing fishing, lakes, and hot springs just down the road; or maybe you need a warm place to hang out in between your trips to Mt. Bachelor, just 30 minutes away! Reach out and ask questions about amenities and activities! Breakfast person? Bring your campfire pots and ask for a few farm fresh eggs to cook over your campfire! Learn more about this land: Our farm, Broken Top Farm, has goats, chickens, dogs, and cats! You’re welcome to camp out with the goats (they are locked up at night and the pasture is kept neat) or just outside of the pasture on the opposite side of the house to give as much privacy as possible.  While you’re in the area, try close attractions like Legend Cider Company or the Badlands Distillery. Maybe you just came for nature - that's fine. Check out the many ATV trails and huge play areas just down the road.If you’re willing to drive 20-60 minutes, visit the Newberry Volcano National Monument, see Crater Lake, hike to Paulina hot springs, ski (or zip line/bike in summer) down Mt. Bachelor, horseback ride through Central Oregon, climb/hike Smith Rock, or go fly fishing at the best trout lake in Oregon! If you need ideas or directions, just ask!

Newberry Forest Farm
Welcoming hosts
The host was very nice. Their partner came out to greet me right away when I texted saying I wasn’t sure which property was theirs. I arrived around 4pm to find out that one of their goats was sick, so I would be unable to camp in the goat field. The spot they offered me as an alternative was unfortunately just in their front yard, maybe 20 feet from the road. It was a Friday night and there were loud vehicles going up and down the street until after midnight. It was a pretty area, and I imagine the goat pasture is a delight, but unfortunately I didn’t get to experience that. As a solo camper I appreciated having a safe, welcoming spot to camp none the less.

Newberry Forest Farm
nice resting place-friendly animals
We had a good time staying here with our young child. He really liked the animals. There is a very friendly horse who seems comfortable around kids. Abby the host is also warm!

Newberry Forest Farm
Camping at Newberry Forrest farm
Abby was a fantastic host to us during our camping trip! She was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us tons of recommendations on places to go around the area for amazing hikes as well as food and brewery recs. She helped make our stay with providing a fire pit and allowing us the option to borrow certain gear if we wanted and was very easy to communicate with both before and during the trip. We loved getting to hang out with the chickens/ roosters and dogs as well. The campsite area was nice and well provided for which made our stay and setting up the campgrounds very easy. We really loved getting to visit Abby and this area in Oregon and would highly recommend staying at the Newberry Forrest farm to any campers in the area.
