Honestly did not realize i would be staying in someone's front yard. I showed up and someone else already had there tent pitched so I ended up camping in Tillamook forest. I paid for two nights for nothing.
Bradley was very friendly and it was a nice private site. It is a steep drive down into the site so just a heads up on that. Also, there were barking dogs in the neighborhood almost all night.
Quiet retrest close to town
The location was VERY easy to find using Google maps. Campsite was clean and bigger than expected! We stayed in site #3, and although someone had clearly recently been there everything was left very nice for us. It was great having accesss to water and a toilet. The neighbors were very quiet and their dogs friendly. We got a visit from another dog (unsure where he came from) but he played fetch and guarded the campsite for us lol. Safeway was less than 10mins away which was such a bonus!
Super friendly and accommodating
This place was smack dab in between the bay and downtown Tillamook. We didn’t actually intend to stay at a site since we were traveling in a stealth van. We had everything we needed except a toilet and shower. Plus it was Fourth of July weekend so we knew all the state park and coastal sites were full. But after a longer than expected day in the cannon beach area it got pretty late. We probably could have just parked somewhere in tillamook on a quiet side street and wake up in town and go to breakfast. But we decided to not fuss over finding a safe, flat, legal place to park overnight and quietly rest our heads. So I checked out this site and this campsite had room and everything we needed. It was pretty late. We didn’t get to the site until around 10:30pm. But it wasn’t a problem. Bradley was super cool and messaged us regarding the space. It was in a quiet out of the way neighborhood off the main road that connects the coast to town. The lot was chill, semi-private, kinda backyard-ish. Bradley was super friendly and accommodating. He even met us to help find the site and set up in the available area. Then came back with our firewood. There was another couple tent camping there with a fire. We actually felt bad that we probably ruined their lone romantic camp adventure. But we were so tired we basically just parked, put up our curtains and fell asleep. I think this spot would be great for group camping. It might be a little too close and intimate otherwise? But It had a clean porta-john, a hose for portable water. And considering we booked it last minute not knowing what to expect, it was great. Bradley was great.
I think it might be more of a hip camp thing then a personal review, but i was expecting a campsite. This was a legit empty lot in between 2 houses with no other campers or anything. Literally camping in someones back yard. Brad was polite enough, but i will NEVER book something on hip camp again. I had to eat the cost and luckily found an actual campsite. Maybe Hip camp is geared towards hobo/traveler types and not actual camping, i dunno. Buyer beware with this website!
