Pitch your tent or park your van and enjoy this beautiful piece of mountain ranch heaven. This camp is 2 miles from downtown Ashland and on over 100 acres of organic ranch pasture. I have 39 animals including chickens, ducks and bunnies. 360 degree mountain views and clean water. This is a true working homestead with gardens, fruit trees and sunshine. I am on the property all day every day tending to the place and I absolutely love the lifestyle. You will be camping in a bountiful back yard with fruit trees, and gorgeous views and will be close to the ranch house, gardens and animals. This is more of a social campsite than a privacy oriented version. If that's for you, and you want to be on a working permaculture homestead, learn about sustainable gardening; all close to Ashland; book it up! Looking forward to hosting y'all.

INCREDIBLE PLACE & HOST! We arrived in the early afternoon and were greeted by Jay Bee. He was extremely welcoming and took the time to give us a full tour of his property and small permaculture farm. We were truck camping so he invited us to park in the backyard.
Water is provided in a jug and you're given a composting toilet for use as well.
If you're an animal person then this hipcamp is a guaranteed win. Jay Bee raises rabbits (think petting bunnies), chickens, and ducks. There's also an amazing white horse on the adjacent property.
Overall we had an awesome experience and would definitely recommend this location to our friends.

Jay was such an amazing host! When we got to his property, we were immediately blown away by the lush green yard, the picturesque farm land and were even greeted by a number of free range bunnies and chickens. If you're an animal or gardening lover, this spot will be perfect for you.

After finding our spot, Jay showed us around and explained all his self-sustaining efforts and made us feel right at home. We watched the sunset while setting up our tent campsite and were welcomed by Jay to hang out on the back porch or just do our own thing.

Water was provided with a compostable toilet as well that was super clean and tidy! We were even given permission to dig a small fire pit to cook dinner over. Overall, a truly great experience that will keep us coming back to HipCamp again in the future! Thanks Jay!

Literally stepped outside of the tent in the morning and this was the scene I was greeted byThe neighbors have very friendly horses.Stellar evening light feat. cute chicken! Some cute chickens hanging out by the trucks on the flat land of the property.

It was very difficult knowing if we were at the right location. We arrived after 4:00 pm and expected to be at a farm so were a little taken back when we arrived at Jay's house, a stone's throw away from I-5 and the constant hum of highway traffic. Yes, Jay keeps rabbits, chickens and ducks, but it is a far stretch to call his house and these animals a "Working Farm". There was one spot Jay called the "best" location for our tent. Unfortunately it was located in the side yard within a few feet from and between the open pit "Composting toilets" and Jay's location for slaughtering rabbits. My 8 year old sadly discovered rotting organs from Jay's most recent kill upon our arrival. My family is an outdoor family. We Backpack and rough it a lot. We also have a flock of chickens of our own and know a thing or two about permaculture and animal husbandry. Our personal opinion of Birds and Bees Homestead - as a hip camp - is that Jay would be better served spending more time creating an inviting space for travelers than marketing his personal endeavors as a farmer. We were happy that Ashland has a thriving AirBNB scene, and happily stayed elsewhere for the evening. Upon letting Jay know of our decision, we heard nothing from him in return.

We were just looking for somewhere to stay the night. We got here and we’re amazed by everything! There were so many birds and bunnies and other animals around it was like a fairy tale! Jay was an amazing host. He gave us some of his delicious fresh made pesto pasta and it was so so good! My husband was so disappointed that we had to get on the road to continue our trip, he wanted atleast 1 more night. Our oldest son was so sad to leave the bunnies. He even woke up early to get some last minute bunny love! It was definitely a magical stay and we’re all so thankful to our host who went above and beyond!!!

Just what I needed for my weekend. Super close to town if you want to duck in for a bit. Easy access to the highway for day trips into the country. Jay Bee was super chill and friendly and oriented me right away. The property is not far from the freeway and there are ducks on the property and there is noise from both. Two observations that didn’t bother me and could be eased with ear plugs, but thought it’d be helpful to share for the next camper. Thanks Jay Bee!

Wonderful experience. After a couple long days of travel and a Motel 6 stay, Jay Bee’s place was a welcome and beautiful respite. Jay Bee was gracious and kind (thanks for the amazing pickles and kimchi) and his farm and animals were just what we needed to re-connect!

I had a great overnight stay with Jay Bee and crew. The property is surrounded by gorgeousness and the folks there were beyond friendly. We ended up having a really nice hang and they even fed me some excellent steak with homemade Kimchi and roasted corn. Great folks and a cool, relaxing place to camp.

Jay was a responsive and friendly host, sharing information about his homestead and things to do and see in the area. We felt welcome and comfortable by humans and animals alike (bunnies, chickens and ducks). The site was super close to Ashland center and the freeway, so accessible in many ways. I would recommend this place 100%.
