Welcome to Big Yellow Birch Camping!   Located 3 hours north of Toronto, Big Yellow Birch Camping is situated on a peninsula surrounded by clean, clear Eagle Lake.   Pitch your tent on our raised tent platforms, nestled amongst the pine trees overlooking beautiful Eagle Lake. Swim or canoe from the shallow, sandy waterfront in a quiet, pristine bay. Nap in a hammock. Relax in the wood-fired sauna. Then, round out a perfect day in nature with friends by a campfire under the starry sky. The whole campsite is reserved only for your group, no one else. It’s wild but not isolated. It’s not glamping; just honest, traditional tent camping. If you are feeling adventurous, explore the backwoods following markers guiding you on a 3 km hike (medium intensity). For a day trip, head across the lake to Mikisew Provincial Park or hike along the “Forgotten Trails” which wind through nearby Algonquin Park. Need a break from nature, or at least a pizza?  Down the road about 5 minutes is the Eagle Lake Country Store.  They sell ice cream, snacks, burgers, fries, ice wood, boat rentals, gas and miscellanea.  A further 10 minutes away in the nearby towns of South River and Sundridge, you’ll find grocery and bulk food stores, a pharmacy, restaurants, LCBO/ Beer store as well as a local craft brewery. ~~~~~ ~~Exclusively for you and your group; no one else ~~~~~~~ Welcome to Big Yellow Birch Camping!  Come pitch your tent on our raised tent platforms, nestled amongst the pine trees overlooking beautiful Eagle Lake. THE SPACE: 12 people, 4 tent platforms (12 x 12 each) 1 sauna, 2 outhouses It's back to basics at Big Yellow Birch Camping.  You’ll find your inner Scout on this untouched point of land that has all the basic amenities for a really great camp stay.   Only ~ONE ~ booking accepted at a time;  you'll have the whole camp to yourself.  Unwind and revel in the peace and quiet enjoying time with your friends and family.  Located 3 hours north of Toronto, Big Yellow Birch Camping is situated on a peninsula surrounded by clean, clear Eagle Lake.   Down a driveway, away from the main road, the parking area is conveniently located at the base of the camp. There are handy carts to load your gear and make your way to one of 4 tent platforms, located about 650 ft from the parking lot, about a 3 minute walk down forest trails. The whole site is in a deciduous forest with conifers along the shore.  There is a slight clearing at the camp center.  Each tent site has a terrific view of the lake, and comes with a large storage container for overflow stuff.  Hammocks swing from the trees nearby.  On the tip of the point, handmade wooden lounge chairs sit together on the smooth rocks so you can sit and toast the sunset.  At the heart of the point, beside the large campfire ring, is the dining area.  Here you’ll find 4 sets of tables and benches located under waterproof tarps strung between the trees to keep off the rain.  In the kitchen area, there are quartermasters for your pots and pans, 4 propane cookers and a propane BBQ.  There is a tap of cold creek water (not potable, rainfall dependent) for washing up.  New, spacious outhouses are down the way.   Back past the campfire, a short walk away, you’ll find the wood-fired sauna overlooking the sandy waterfront.  Relax together on the 24 ft floating dock or in the heat of the sauna.  Got more energy? Launch a kayak, canoes or stand-up paddleboards, for a tour on the water.    If you are feeling adventurous, explore the backwoods following markers guiding you on a 3 km hike (medium intensity). Private Lake Point for 12 w Sauna
Fabulous camping spot!
This is a GREAT camp site for anyone who likes car camping but wants more privacy. The land is beautiful and everything is very well thought out. The property and outhouses were so clean and the kitchen area was amazing. The place was stocked with extras like fire sticks for cooking marshmallows and extra games. The tent area, kitchen and outhouses are very spaced out. There was odd motor boat sound but other than that, it really felt like we were secluded. We loved the canoes and paddle boards too! I would highly recommend this spot. Great for multiple families. Thank you, Stephanie, for an amazing stay!

Tent Camping at its Finest.
First off, Stephanie is a super host and an incredible human. This site has been so well thought out and offers more than we could have ever expected for a pitch a tent experience. The site was easy to get to, and while the property is expansive, everything is so well laid out and so clearly marked with the cutest custom signs. The carts at the entry way made it easy to bring our gear into the camping area. The outhouses were so clean, and filled with toiletries in case we forgot something. The cooking area was amazing, I just wish we had brought more food because the amenities would have enabled us to cook a feast! The nearby tree swing kept the kiddos busy during meal prep. Adjacent to the cooking station are picnic tables covered with a rain proof canopy, followed by a huge fire pit. The tents sit on one of 4 12x12 platforms which all offer lake views, Muskoka chairs, hammocks, storage area, and a trail from one to the other. There is even a great hidden spot called Sunset Point which offers the most comfy loungers to take in the lakeside views of Eagle Lake. While we were only a group of 4 I will definitely be back, and would love to go with a group because there is just so much space to enjoy and explore. The waterfront offers shallow entry, a dock, water vessels in a quiet bay and even has a lakeside sauna!!! There is a hiking trail with hidden treasures, and honestly it is just magical... actually the entire forest property is. We highly recommend this tent camping site, especially for a larger group or multi family.

This place was amazing. So we’ll equipped. A mix between a camping experience and a hotel. Tons of supplies, gorgeous sand at the beach and a great kitchen set up for cooking with multiple families. Thanks!
