Located only 35 min to downtown Ottawa. Davalon is the vision of Dannielle, a Metis woman on a special journey. A melding of a love of horses and a connection to the land and my Indigenous roots. Davalon is about personal growth and recognition of inner strength and a haven for all living creatures. It is a refuge for many people in need of uniting and healing with mother earth, through the spirit of horses, the shelter of trees, and the warmth of the sun. There is one site available, ideal for tents, vans, and trailers less than 20 feet. Campfires are permitted (within local regulation), there is an outhouse on-site which is currently working but be prepared to dig a cat hole if necessary. Please note, absolutely no pets are allowed. We have valuable therapy animals on-site and cannot risk them.

Camping with animals

We loved the site and the animals were an added bonus -beautiful alpacas and horses. The walking paths were also scenic and peaceful. The host was very friendly and helpful as well. Will definitely be back :)

2nd visit as great as the first

Another couple of nights in this peaceful spot before they close for the season. As before, everything was perfect! We would recommend this place to anyone looking for an escape from the endless noise of city life. Looking forward to returning in the Spring.

Lovely site and fantastic host

It’s a really nice campsite with lots of shade so you’re never too hot. The host is also really nice and brought extra wood when we ran out (paid obviously). It’s a super chill place and nothing is around.

Loved it! Exactly what I needed

Right from the moment I booked, Danielle and Elise were responsive, helpful and accommodating. Directions in to the site were very clear. The site itself was cozy, clean and quiet. I am a novice camper and this was my first solo trip, and I couldn't have asked for better. I highly recommend this spot if you just need a getaway and some recharging time!

Peaceful perfection

Stayed here for two nights and everything was perfect. The site is really quiet and away from other activities and buildings on the property. Outhouse was an immaculately clean porta-potti a short distance away, which we had sole use of. Delicious eggs, plenty of wood, and Dannielle and Elise were such very friendly hosts. 100% recommended if you want peace and nature. We had a wonderful break and will definitely be back!

Ya gotta camp here.

What a diamond in the rough. I feel so lucky to have stumbled on HipCamp as a resource and then lucking out with Davalon. It was a great place for a family camping trip with lots of space for tents, beautiful trials and landscapes, and oh yeah, alpacas and horses. Elise was responsive and supportive of us the whole time we were there.
