This property was settled by the Irish in the mid 1800’s. Originally inhabited by Algonquin peoples the land was cleared for farming and they erected several building including a large German style hand hewn timber frame barn which still stands and is used today. The farm house was built in the 1910 and the original log cabins have been reframed into artistic buildings. It is wild to look around and imagine what life was like before now in a time when the land had no boundry lines and was traversed by indigenous peoples of this area. We have a great respect for those who have walked before us and a deep sense of gratitude for being here today. Learn more about this land: Perched high on a hilltop with scenic views of the surrounding area resting on the Canadian Shield! We are offering a gentle landing for those wishing to relax and enjoy nature.  We have several options for camping sites and experiences for campers to choose from. There are 6 campsites available for tent and RV/trailer campers. We can accommodate vehicles up to 30ft in length (no hookups available at this time). Pets are welcome! Go for a hike up the mountain, meander along the streams, walk to the lake 15min down a beautiful country road. Enjoy what we have going on at the art barn where we host artists in residence studios, music jams, workshops and events. Enjoy an evening around your private campfire or perhaps join some folks gathered at the communal fire pit under the stars. Book a sauna session for an evening, and possibly a massage or healing session. There’s always something to do on this farm😋

Magical campsite
Me and my two kids (8 and 13) had an amazing time at Abby’s farm! The land was beautiful, with endless spaces to explore. The campsite was magical - tucked away beside a pond and with amenities of an outdoor kitchen and sauna. And the animal residents - a dog, two cats, two horses, a roosters and a flock of chickens - were a delight! We signed up for the jewellery making and had the best time. Abby was so patient in teaching us how to use the tools. Both kids got right into it and were so proud of the pieces they made. As for the hostess, Abby is gracious and kind, and always making sure her guests are well accommodated.

I had such a lovely experience at the farm. Abby is a wonderful host with so much wisdom and knowledge to share. The land is incredibly peaceful, with some very unique attributes. I loved learning about rock cutting/polishing and experiencing the sauna. I will definitely be back :)

We unfortunately had to change our travel plans at the very last minute (torrential rain) and couldn't stay with Abby at the Artfarm, but we hope to in the future!

Finding refuge at Abby’s Artfarm
We had such a wonderful time! Abby made sure that we were fully set up with water, wood, propane, bins for waste, toilet paper, and straw for the composting outhouse. The property is beautiful! While we felt like we had our space, Abby made sure that we had her phone number in case we needed anything. The sauna and outdoor cooking area really were the cherry on the Sunday. I’d highly recommend my friends to stay here, I’m sure we’ll be back. Until next time!!

Camping with kiddos
This was a great experience and it was so amazing to meet Abby, who is welcoming and considerate, as well as her friendly chickens, dogs and cats. We camped with our two young children here. The spot was a bit tricky to get to as it was a bit muddy due to the rain- but totally doable. Abbys handmade sauna and clearing for camping is a fantastic balance between relaxation, camping, and the great outdoors. We met our friends from toronto at this spot as it was halfway between ottaea and toronto! A perfect escape. Thanks Abby!
