#6 - Tent Site
Gem of a park
The 2024 solar eclipse path of totality took us to Heavener Runestone Park, and we're glad it did! The park is situated in a beautiful setting atop a hill with amazing sunset views. We don't have kids or pups, but this would be a great place to go camping with a family. There are some modern amenities, including a giftshop, restroom, shower house and playground. There was even wifi (not that we needed it). We enjoyed exploring the forested trails and checking out the runestone.
Tent site # 6 was conveniently located close to the parking lot and within short walking distance of amenities and trails. The campsite was clean and shaded, with a nice level pad that fit our sizable tent. There were a few good hammock trees nearby. I wouldn't say there was a lot of privacy at our site (as was expected from other reviews), but there was plenty of space. We would've stayed longer, but the weather forecast resulted in our leaving a day early. Too bad, as I would've liked to explore the area more. Next time!

#8 - Tent site
Runestone Park is a beautiful place and the views are spectacular! We camped in #8 campsite for the solar eclipse, and we thought we had the best spot! The tent pad is perfect ….. level and easy to drive in stakes . The Host was wonderful , the people are so friendly , and if you have a family , this is the spot . The facilities are well kept , and I can’t wait to get back 😎❤️

#3 - Cliff Side
Amazing camping
This was a last minute reservation to watch the eclipse in totality on the recommendation of a friend (we had no idea it even existed). We were cliff side tent camping and it was amazing. They had all kinds of activities including a night time walk, bonfire, duck hunts, music, and I could go on. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back for more relaxation here!

#10 - Upper Camp Loop
Very nice campground, the hosts were very welcoming and polite. Everything was in good working order and clean! We stayed for the eclipse and they had organized a lot of fun activities for families and guests that were there. Campaite #10 is more remote from other sites and was very peaceful and quiet, but is up a steep hill so you will get plenty of cardio in.

We had an amazing time at Runestone park for the eclipse. All the staff have been amazing and put on a great event. Campsite was great for hammock and tent plenty of shade.
