Excellent spot with nice cliff views, easy access to amenities, and a feeling of privacy. The staff was super friendly and the park was very well maintained.

#7 - Tent Site
Cute little tent sites, just be prepared to carry things into the site a little bit. Our girls adored the park nearby, the runestone loop was fun to do and we'd love to check out the trails some other time.

Camping at Heavener State Park
Our family loved camping at Heavener Runestone Park. The view was amazing. The park was extremely clean and beautiful! The hiking trails were well maintained and beautiful as well. We took our three boys ages 3-8 and they enjoyed every bit of it. Clean bathrooms, shower house and playground as well!

30amp up
The park was very clean. I was impressed with flushing toilets (no vial odor). WIFI throughout the campground was a surprise. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. I asked many questions before booking, and they answered quickly and didn’t seem output from my question. The park is family friendly. Trails are manageable for most anyone in fair health. I have a bad ankle and was still able see the runestone. It has many photo opportunities. I do have one negative thing to say. If train horns annoy you, there is a train yard down the hill that has traffic at all hours. We camped at the 30amp RV site using tents. Overall I was very pleased with my stay.

Beware of Trains not Trolls
My family and I enjoyed our first visit to Heavener Runestone Park. I recommend UP campsite for 30amp camper/popup use.
Here’s the pros: This campsite offers a level concrete pad, a covered pavilion with grills/tables, & a community firepit. It’s situated at the highest point and best suited for camper vans or popup campers. The shower house was clean and kept locked with a combination provided at check-in. Single restrooms are clean and maintained but downhill from UP camp. We traveled with a Pop Up Pod for a camp toilet which came in handy. The nearby overlook has a beautiful view overlooking Heavener. We recommend bringing binoculars. The short hike to see the Runestone is beautiful right now with trees in bloom and a waterfall flowing. Beware the trail makes a loop and you will have a steep stair climb back up.
The cons: UP camp does not offer water hookup, but spigots are nearby at other sites. We heard trains at all hours of the night.
Overall, this park is small but is fun for a one to two night stay.
