My husband and I love to go "primitive" camping and this place was perfect, not too far from home, but was well out in the forest on their property. Even in the winter you could not see any houses and we felt like we had the privacy we needed to set up our toilet and shower out there. They also allowed us as much of their well water as we needed from by their house. This place has the most beautiful oak trees, great fire pit and we were lucky to have a clear night to see the stars!! 100% recommended.
Really great spot! The signs made it easy to find our spot, was just like 2 minutes walking from our parking spot down a pretty trail in the woods. The site was lovely, surrouned by a circle of large trees and very private from main house. We loved that there was a firepit and plenty of wood in the forest to grab so we didnt have to bring any. We cant wait to come back in the summer when everything is in bloom!

Thank you so much for the amazing review! We definitely love it when people help us "clean up our woods" by burning the downed branches. No need to buy any for sure!! :) See you again soon!
My little family stayed a night at Oaklore forest and it was a adorable and secluded little camp site. The host was a delight and very kind. We had our aussie with us as well and his only complaint was the coyotes you could hear all night. We heard owls and even saw a fox den, the woods were filled with wildlife and it was a beautiful night.
The only "complaints" (I say that lightly because it wasnt an issue for us but might be for others) is there is no bathrooms- we had a 3 year old so he wasnt a super fan of not using a potty- and the fire pit is dug in so theres limited airflow and it was a chilly night so we didnt stay up as late as we wanted due to the temperature and not being able to keep a big enough fire going without fanning the whole time. And a few neighbors had loud fourwheelers or ATVs and were loud going down the road past midnight.
Overall the pros far outweighed the cons. We enjoyed a secluded evening with a wonderful area for our kiddo and doggo to explore and for us to relax in a beautiful wooded site. 🥰 will be going back!

Perfect. For privacy. Lots of firewood but remeber u are in the woods. We had to leave early not prepped for the ticks . so prep for ticks and when getting firewood use caution u are with nature i kicked out a huge copperhead. Again to be expected. Loved the area was sad we had to leave early.
Thank you so much for the beautiful stay! It was truly a good getaway. Site was beautiful and easy to locate. Lit was big and private for a nice stay! (:

You guys were amazing guests, thank you so much for coming out, we appreciate you and hope you come back soon!!!
This was our first time using HipCamp and we were a little on the fence about camping on somebody else’s property. However, mostly everywhere was booked and we stumbled across this app trying to find new places to camp.
As soon as we arrived, Monica was outside to greet us. Instantly we felt very welcomed and very safe. She was super friendly. Any doubts that we had had been put to rest. The camp site itself was kept very nice and not overgrown. Monica showed us around for a second but then let us do our own thing unbothered, which we really appreciated. The camp site was close to the main house but it was far enough into the woods that you couldn’t see it and it felt primitive. The only issue that we had were the ticks! Come prepared as ticks are to be expected.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and Monica was an excellent host. Thank you Monica!

Monica was great! The property was clean and well maintained. Felt plenty secluded and safe! Will be back again!

We are so happy that you enjoyed it here!!!! Thank you so much. Please come back soon!
Place was amazing, the lady that owns this place goes above and beyond on everything, definitely will be coming back here, just can’t wait to see what else she has planned for her property....

Thank you so much Angela!!! We love having wonderful guests like you!!! Please come back soon!!
Adorable little camping spot! The site was was tucked away into the woods and out of sight from the main house. Spacious camping site with a big firepit and felt very cozy. Loved that there was potable water, what looked like a cool garden, and an adorable cat friend from the main house who greeted us when we unloaded the car! Would heartily recommend this spot.
