Slice of paradise
Beautiful spot for camping, fishing and swimming. Our host was extremely friendly and accommodating.
My girlfriend and I camped in the lower section by the water (spots 11-13). We were nicely shaded and had a good view of small sections of the sky at night over the water. The upper level spots (1-10) is a lot more open, but has an amazing view of the entire sky at night and all the stars. There is a line of trees separating them from the lower level.
The only downside is that the camping spots are right next to each other in a row with not much space in between. This wasn't an issue for us because we were the only ones camping at the time, but there wouldn't have been much privacy if all the spots were full.
Overall we had an amazing time here and would definitely camp here again.
Peaceful, quiet, clean
Really just a peaceful spot in the woods by a crystal stream. A perfect getaway for me and my pooch. There are some trashcans (emptied) so you can keep your campsite clean, and a portapotty (also very clean) just close enough to be convenient and not an eyesore. I got to speak with Laquita on the phone before my stay so I'd know what exactly to expect, which was super nice of her.
Great natural features, but...
Access to the creek was great but there is a road behind the creek that had more traffic than I expected. Site needs more upkeep- some trash and broken glass- the site numbering was hard to find. Portapottie was clean and much appreciated!
We had a great time sitting in the creek and the area and portapotty were very clean. The map was confusing online but we were happy with the spot and our host was more than helpful.
A beautiful gem of a camping spot. The creek was pristine!! Most creeks or flowing water has some sort of smell, but this one had literally 0 smell.
We used the water to cook with without issue.
Laquita was super helpful and insightful on directions, supplies, and overall a fantastic host.
Starry skies & crystal clear waters
Clean, cold creek is great for swimming and casting for small fish. Spots for hammocks, tents, or small camper vehicles.
No pottable water so bring your own or filter water from the creek. Portapotty was clean.
Natural falls state park is about 20 minutes away.
Good spot to view/photograph the stars.
Heavenly camping in ok
I stayed at Laquita’s property for one night and it was amazing. She and her family were so welcoming and fantastic about communicating with me before I even arrived.
The site itself was GORGEOUS. There were lots of different options of where you could set up camp (or car camp in my case) - right on the clear water creek, in a massive field for stargazing, under the trees by the creek, etc.
Amenity wise, it was great - trash cans, fire rings (yes multiple so you can choose where you want to stay), a port o potty, a super clear creek that has drinkable water if you’re feeling adventurous, and as I mentioned above, a massive field for stargazing.
Seriously, this was an absolutely fantastic find. I will definitely stay again if the opportunity to be out this way comes up again.
One thing to note, if you need cell service it’s pretty spotty so I’d recommend downloading any music or whatever you might want beforehand as well as directions to get to your next destination. (I like being without cell service personally.)
