Thornhill Bluff was beautiful and private, the hosts were kind and accommodating, and I'd definitely stay again. The site backs up against Sand Run Metro Park, providing access to hiking trails and a really lush view. A lot of animal activity to watch - birds, chipmunks, deer, etc (but also raccoons so be careful with food storage). Bug spray is a good call, but you won't need sunscreen since the site is fully shaded. A really lovely place.
We had an amazing weekend at this campsite! It was secluded and private, and the most perfect camping set up! We saw several deer, including a mama deer with her two fawns, it was very cool.
Having access to a flushing toilet just a short walk away was also very clutch, and the hosts provided all the firewood. While we didn’t need to take advantage of any of this, we were also offered camping amenities and food in case we forgot anything.
We can’t wait to book this site again. Thank you for a great weekend!!

I'm really glad you got to see the mama and baby deer. Thanks for staying. If you come again I hope we get to meet you.
This site was everything we wanted and more! The site is set just on the property line of the metro parks, tucked into the trees with a very deep ridge on each side of the campsite. It was beautiful, quiet, and convenient to get to. We were left alone the entire time, and the hosts were insanely accommodating. They had camping supplies to use if you forget anything, and a clean, private, indoor bathroom that could be used anytime. Overall, we had a great camping experience! Thanks Gary!

I'm glad it met your expectations! We love it here and we love sharing it so please consider us again! I hope you got to hit some trails in Sand Run! We have a few places along the ravine we like to use to get down to the trails.
The site was well kept, peaceful and private. Gary was very welcoming and a wonderful host. He even brought us out some ribs he’d cooked for us to try! The only thing I’d do differently would’ve been to bring a wagon to carry stuff to the site (or bring less stuff), but it was a short, easy walk from the car. Having a bathroom close by was great. We brought our dog for the first time and it was perfect for her. We’d definitely stay again!
Had a great time staying at Thornhill Bluff! The site was so pretty and Gary was a great host! It was so nice to know they had anything we needed if I forgot anything. Looking forward to visiting again!

Amazing place and even better people! I would recommend this site to anyone that is looking for a quiet spot surrounded by beautiful nature.
Gary and his family were absolutely incredible hosts. My fiancé and I were a little skeptical,(traveling from Canada for the weekend) however we quickly realized this was more safe, accommodating and better in so many ways than a public campground. There were deer wandering the most beautiful mature hardwood forest, and stunning views that overlooked a ravine. They provided us with firewood for our campfire, which was a surprise bonus. We can't say enough about these hosts. They're fantastic, and I would definitely recommend to anyone! Not one negative thing to say. We will be back! Thank you!
Very accommodating and kind host. Plenty of trails to walk around and explore on. Had a great time.
Spent one night - Gary was a great host and the campsite was peaceful and had everything we could have asked for. Thanks, Gary!
