The Viking longhall has been 9 years in the making by a group of semi serious Viking enthusiasts: the result is a 60 foot long building that has 18, 8,x4' sleeping berths. Set apart from the main open area it also boasts 2 meeting rooms and a kitchen. The campsite is a very peaceful place. Some go as far as to say a healing place! We are proud of what we have achieved and now want people to come out and enjoy it also. The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway (state route 32) for convenience, but far enough not to be bothered by it. The area is steeped in Native American culture. In fact, the world famous Serpent Mound is but 8 miles away, with many other Adena culture sites within easy driving distance. It's also in the heart of the Amish community. The area is known for its natural beauty with many hiking trails and canoeing opportunities. The area is awash in beauty and history from the ancient mound culture to the amish culture. The area has many hiking trails some of which are part of the buckeye trail and range in length from an easy 1 mile loop to rugged hikes of many miles. Come out and share the land that we have loved for the last 30 years PLEASE NOTE….WE WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPLYING BEDDING OR TOWELS.

David is a great host and the site itself is even cooler than the pictures make it look! Great hiking nearby as well!

Serpent Mound, Eclipse
This place is magical. Scottish David delivers a Viking themed experience with true Appalachian hospitality. He and his wife Ivea (hope the spelling is right) go above and beyond to be accommodating. I left wishing I could take them home with me. The world needs more people like them and anyone who stays with them will feel the same.

Excellent!
Fantastic communal stay! Quiet fun and the lodge that is communal to all with the kitchen area is absolutely spotless. I should be embarrassed to say, but I was looking for a cobweb and could not find one!!! Seriously LOL... Dave is so incredibly kind and accommodating and laid back. The lodge was one driveway up from the address given which stumped us for a moment, while we sat in someone's driveway. Be sure to not pull in unless you see a sign for the campground. The rivers right along a few sites and I love hearing it at night. All campers and those staying staying in Bonds were incredibly kind fun and courteous. We had no reception at all on our cell phones and navigation was not our friend that night.

Skål!
Everything about our stay was beautiful. The property is enchanting and every where you look you will see glimmers of magic. The host was wonderful, down to earth and was there for whatever we needed. We met new sisters and loved tending to the community fire. We truly enjoyed our time and we cannot wait to return. Skål!

Lovely Stay!
My friend and I enjoyed our stay at the campground. We were there during cold weather, and freezing temps at night. David was kind enough to keep several Berths open in case the tent campers got too cold and needed to come in during the night. He even brought down hot coffee in the mornings and chopped firewood! The sites were nice and the creek was clear and lovely. We wanted to stay extra days but had to return to work and home life. They also have a little gift shop full of local artist's treasures. We will definitely be planning another stay with them!
