Carol the host was super helpful and accommodating. We stayed at Shelter 3 and loved the views down the hill and to the creek. The shelter was well built and extremely clean. We didn't end up sleeping in it (we pitched a tent next to it) but it was wonderful to have a sheltered spot for cooking and hanging out. The property is beautiful and very quiet at night. And it's a great location for exploring Cuyahoga National Park during the days. We had a great weekend.

If you're camping in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Heritage Farms is definitely the place to stay. There's nothing quite like sleeping among the pine and spruce trees, and the farm is generally a very peaceful place to be. It's also very central since it's in Peninsula and has great access to the rest of the park.

We'd originally planned on staying at the Stanford camp grounds (the only campgrounds "technically" in the park), but wound up at Heritage Farms when we found the Stanford campsites were all full. We later hiked by the Stanford campsite and, while there's nothing wrong with it, the Heritage Farms campsites definitely felt far more scenic and pleasant.

Everyone on the farm is also super friendly and helpful! The Heritage Farms would definitely be my choice if I camp again in Cuyahoga.

Hi Adam, We really enjoyed your visit with us. George and I are glad you enjoyed your visit. We love sharing our 5 generation farm and meeting people from around the US and the world. Our first ever HipCamp stay and we were excited!

The property is very much like you see on the beautiful picture. And the sites are spaced out around the property. Beautiful views, especially when you see a few campfires dotting the hillside during the evening.

I never met our host, though. This is a working property with I'm guessing employees busy on the grounds. A different feel than I expected.

We chose the shelter with little information. We were disappointed in that, because it was not bug tight. Even if the tarp over the front could keep out the majority of bugs, there were gaps in the shelter that would let them in, so we stayed in our tent.

Finally, for a farm that is open for public events, I thought the lack of drinking water to be a bit thoughtless. It's a basic need that travelers have to constantly source. We ended up filling water bottles at the nearby national park bathrooms in Peninsula. Lock 29 Trailhead has a water bottle filling fountain. Nice! Pit toilets are understandable, but I would have been delighted with drinking water on site.

This site was wonderful! Carol was extremely kind and accommodating when we asked to switch sites last minute. Each camp site has a picnic table, large fire ring, and a generous amount of fire wood with extra firewood for purchase for $5. We had originally booked shelter 1, but when the forecast improved we asked to switch to the primitive campsite 6. The shelters we large and were very clean, they looked cozy even though we didn’t stay in them. Our site was clean and had a nice view of the farm. The property was quiet, despite being within walking distance to 303 and the shops in Peninsula. Hiking trails were nearby as well. I can’t recommend this site enough, we were pleasantly surprised!

Our hosts were hands-off but made it clear they were available if we needed them. The farm was idyllic and even though there were other campers and an event happening near the farmhouse, my husband and I felt secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was when it started raining right as we were about to get a fire going, but that’s hardly our hosts’ fault! Great campsite!

My girlfriend and I were visiting CVNP and chose Shelter Under the Stars since it is right in the middle of the park. While we primarily chose the site for its convenience, we were blown away by how beautiful it was. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our site. Although there are a couple of other sites on the property, we definitely felt our site was private enough. After reading other reviews, we chose to stay in our tent and store our gear in the shelter to avoid bugs. The fire ring, bench and picnic table that come with each shelter were much-appreciated. Overall we absolutely loved staying here, and we are planning to come back later in the fall!

Carol, the owner, was so very helpful! She had our site set up perfectly, and despite our late arrival, she made the site so easy to find! We met her the following morning and she was so sweet and made sure our stay was perfect. Very unique, peaceful setting only minutes away from Cuyahoga.
