Our secluded one room rustic cabin is in a grove of trees looking over our 1/2 acre bluegill & bass pond.  It is well off the road in the Appalachian SE part of Ohio, and surrounded by the rolling hills of our grassfed cattle pasture.  We consider it rustic because there is an outhouse & no electricity.

Our farm is bordered by 5000 acres of The State of Ohio's mostly wooded Wolf Creek Wildlife Area open to public access.  Burr Oak State Park is 8 miles away, with boating, fishing, hiking and restaurant. The long distance Buckeye Trail passes through our farm. We frequently see deer, turkeys & over 120 species of birds on the farm. Nearby Chesterhill has a restaurant offering our grassfed burgers & food from other local farmers.   McConnelsville is 11 miles away with restaurants, movies, grocery stores, etc.

This site was so peaceful with no neighbors around except the cows. Secluded cabin 100 yards from great bass fishing in a huge pond all to yourself we caught fish all day long big and small it was a blast. Very quite With great views of the sky at night. Cabin is very basic as listed convenient for preparing food And washing hands That’s all we used it for because the area was so beautiful the cabin didn’t matter. The host Pete is a very kind gentleman that was easy to talk to we didn’t get to meet his wife but I’m sure she is great as well, we even got to buy Tbones right from there store where you check in very tasty. Give this place a chance you won’t regret it

Slept out under stars by fire, so can't really comment on the cabin much. Beautiful property. The outhouse was pristine🙏😁. Extremely peaceful stay...except for a squirrel that launched nuts at the tin roof randomly throughout night . 😂

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The landscape is gorgeous. The cabin is tucked in among rolling hills giving it a very private feel. We were able to purchase some excellent steaks from Pete & Marjie which we then cooked over the fire by the cabin. Great spot for a little getaway to sit back and relax!

This was a wonderful little getaway. The host was fantastic and welcoming. The beef from the farm store 10 out of 10 when cooked over the open fire. Cabin was well kept even though we opted to bring some cots and sleep under the stars. 10/10 would recommend.

My partner was raised in the area and we stayed at Pete and Margie's beef farm to be in the country but close to Athens, Stroudt's Run, and Burr Oaks. Its a short drive to each and the scenery is gorgeous. The farm itself is a beautiful slice of Appalachia, nestled into a private corner of pasture with a view of a pond and surrounded by trees. We have a one-year old and she loved running around in the yard surrounding the cabin and seeing the cows on the farm. I can't say enough about how kind and welcoming Pete and Marjie were - we spent a good bit of time chatting with them even though we were only around for a short stay. They are a part of back-to-the-lander history and it was a delight to hear their journey of moving to the area and making a life on their farm. We loved staying here and plan to stay here when we visit again.

Peaceful and quiet. We had a pleasant experience there. In the morning you wake up to the most beautiful sounds coming from the birds, and at night the sky is full of stars. The host was very nice and friendly as well.
