We stayed at Camp Rosewater this weekend and it was awesome! The animals were so sweet and right next to the site. Everything was so clean and Lindsay and her husband were great hosts. We stayed middle of October and were plenty warm while sleeping. It was a quick drive from Columbus making it a perfect getaway weekend. Loved it!!!
Best of ohio
Rose Water farm is an amazing small family farm. The yurt is extremely beautiful and very comfortable.
The animals at the farm are so happy and friendly, Buck the dog is my guy! He takes care of all the other animals and it’s so amazing to see.
Chance and Lindsey (and of course the kids) are superb hosts. They made sure we were always fine and came out for few great conversations.
Lastly, Kalee is a yoga instructor (Lindsey added to our stay on request) was a game changer. We had one of the best yoga experience on a perfect morning, near the animals and fall colors. Yoga was extra and while worth it!
I wish I could leave a 100 star review!
Great vibes found here
I rate Camp Rosewater 10/10, our overnight in the yurt was awesome! We arrived in a light rain, wowed at the interior, and dropped off our things. It was clean, spacious, neat as a pin. If a yurt can have Feng Shui, this is it. Seriously. Lindsay set up a queen air mattress with beautiful bedding so we three (mom, young adult, teen) had a place to rest our heads later. She also provided extra blankets to help with the chill, plus we brought extra. The real thing is even prettier and comfier than the pictures! We unzipped the tent to go outside to find the horse, goats, alpacas, and dogs all at the fence to say hello. So much cuteness...my daughters were over the moon.
Firewood was stacked 10 ft. away (firestarters and matches inside the yurt), so we started building a campfire right away. The rain didn’t dampen our spirits and we roasted marshmallows to our hearts’ content. After the last of the embers faded, we crawled into our comfy beds and fell fast asleep. We could hear coyotes singing very, very far away; we felt safe know we had farm dogs watching out for us. We loved waking up to sounds of the woods — the gentle breezes, the birds, the falling leaves. It was magical.
Did I mention the farm animals? We love all animals and this collection added so much peace and joy to our stay. There was an outdoor dry kitchen with camp stove, plus ground coffee and coffee presses that we didn’t use, but it was nice to know it was available. Granville is the prettiest town in OH imo so we went exploring there before we headed home.
Thank you for hosting us in the beautiful yurt, camp, and farm. You have a very special place with peaceful, calming vibes. We will be back!
The yurt was absolutely beautiful and so cozy!! It was a very chilly night, but the wood stove made the space nice and toasty, and the blankets provided were very warm. We loved curling up here after a full day of hiking.
Lindsay and Chance recommended several restaurants and hiking options to us, and we had the best weekend!
Had a lovely stay at camp rose water. Every detail was thought through from firewood, candles, extra blankets, coffee mugs etc. The site was extremely clean and well kept. The animals were very cute, and the host was accommodating and very easy to get ahold of. Will def be going back!
Lovely camp at a family farm!
I enjoyed taking my family to Camp Rosewater. We hadn't been camping in a long time and this was a great experience for us. It was nice to have a lovely yurt to shelter in, especially since it was raining much of the time we were there. It stayed dry inside despite the prolonged rain. My kids enjoyed the animals and view!
My husband and I had the most calming break from reality in this space. It is perfectly curated to be cozy and cute. The animals were a major plus when visiting the yurt! We don’t have the opportunity to be around animals much, so to have them welcome us and stick around was such a treat. Chance and Lindsay were also extremely accommodating when we had issues lighting the wood stove inside and with choosing a trail to hike. Can’t wait to come again!!
Adorable animals and a cozy night.
We arrived after dark and pulled into the driveway under the trees as mentioned in our directions. A gentleman greeted us immedietly and after gathering our stuff gave us a ride to the site in an open air ORV. Nice because it's a tiny trek to the site, and with Covid being a thing an open air ORV was awesome. (He was also wearing a mask! Yay!) He gave us the lay of the land, introduced us to the many animals on the farm (The Great Pyrenees pups! Bruce (I think?) and Bernie. We loved them!) Since it was a chillier evening he also had started the wood stove for us inside the yurt (which we ended up not really needing, because it became a weird balmy 50+ degrees out that night). I messaged the hosts later about the stove being a bit smoky, and have told me they resolved that issue. He also had set up our campfire for us, it just need to be lit. Great campfire wood? Weird thing to mention, but I've dealt with so much wet/new wood for fires it was a VERY welcome surprise to have aged/dry wood to work with. There was an outdoor oil stove and some pots and pans to work with which I had planned to use the next morning for coffee, but it was SO blustery outside we ended up getting coffee elsewhere. And even though it was a very blustery night, we stayed warm and the yurt didn't really seem too affected by all the wind, which was nice! There are a few LED lanterns inside the yurt, but maybe bring a few more lights as they aren't super duper bright. Oh yeah, the yurt is not that far from a road, but the traffic was very light and we barley noticed at all. We'd come back, it was an enjoyable experience and my friend loved that site the most. :)
