This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. The house dates back to the 1850s and is a post and beam structure. Guests can enjoy the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two single rope-beds with foam mattresses in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids six and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The Camp Cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. The restroom and shower are located in the walkout basement of the farmhouse, a 40 yard walk from the Cabin. The restroom has a private entrance and is used only by guests during their stay. Pet and feed goats and other farm animals. Enjoy fun activities on the farm and in the barn.Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." The Hallstead Camp Cabin
Inviting and comfortable
The cabin was so lovely and inviting and comfortable. I was thrilled to find the fresh eggs, coffee creamer and sugar (and coffee), and sweet Shiloh the kitty. The chickens were a hoot, and the goats were adorable. A quick walk to the bathhouse and it was very nice. We had a great visit and fell asleep to the sound of spring frogs and quiet.

The Hallstead Camp Cabin
The perfect cabin for a family get
Wow!!! Wow!!! Wow!!! This place is perfect. If you have kids....it's even more perfect. Donna and her husband are so kind and welcoming. You can tell they have hosted many times before. They are super kid friendly and allow the kids to feel like their farm is their farm for the stay. The kids loved all the animals, the paddle boats, the playground , the indoor barn that is a kids dream! And of course you will fall in love with Shiloh the cat. You may even be tempted to steal her but u won't because you will want to be allowed back. Shiloh will escort you around the farm, she will lay on the porch but never try and come in the cabin without an invite. But once u invite her in she will love and snuggle u . It rained off and on the entire time we were there but no matter the weather there is always something fun to do there. The little touches Donna makes to her cabin are beyond sweet. But beware if u only rent it for one night you will regret it for sure so make sure u rent atheist 2 nights so u get the full experience. And even then its not long enough.

The Hallstead Camp Cabin
Cozy and comfy!
What a wonderful little cabin in the woods. We spent hours reading our books by the fire pit and enjoyed visiting with the animals on the farm at the property. Bring along some corn chips or snacks for goats and chickens! They were so much fun to feed. The owners were extraordinarily kind, and went to great lengths to make sure the cabin and property are well appointed and lovingly cared for.
