A little slice of paradise. Staying at the yurt exceeded every single expectation! Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome AND a tour of the property, before being driven to the yurt's little perch on a private hill. With large windows facing the open field, you can sit inside on one of the cozy chairs/cushions and enjoy the view on a chilly day, or head out to the campfire circle (stocked with wood and a bucket of water!). Although the communal kitchen and bathroom area is a little walk away, the yurt is stocked with a water jug, trash & recycling bins, AND a propane heater - which came in handy after the sun went down! I opted to use the cot provided for sleeping that night, along with their large duvet and pillow - cozy, warm and perfect for relaxing in by lantern light. There's a peaceful, secluded feel to this lovely property, and being just about 25 minutes from Asheville, you're close enough for all sorts of trips into town! If you're traveling to the area but don't want to stay in the city - this is the perfect spot! I'm already hoping to return when the weather grows a bit warmer :)
BEAUTIFUL location. So peaceful and quite. Had a nice outdoorsy, camping feel, but had a roof over our heads. Jay and his family were super kind and accommodating from suggesting hikes in the area to carting our bags from the car to the yurt. If you are staying during cold weather, make sure to bring an extra layer because it can get chilly at night, but we were totally fine layered up.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the yurt. It is clean and homey and set in a beautiful and private location just a short walk from the main house. Also conveniently located a short drive from downtown Asheville. We would certainly stay here again and recommend to anyone stopping through Asheville.
We had quite a late arrival, but Jay was exceedingly kind and helpful. We got our car stuck in the mud on the side of the road, and he was very swift in helping us. I couldn’t be more grateful for his hospitality and for going above and beyond to help us feel welcome. The property is beautiful and the yurt was cozy.
