The Heart Center has something for everyone. It is easy to let go in the peaceful setting and the fact that it was previously a school seems to promote a sense of joy and curiosity that will lift your heart. I stayed in a yurt which was a lovely retreat after tent camping/hiking in the heat.

Liz and her team are dedicated to the mission and sanctity of a truly unique place. I really have not had a more attentive host and intentional space set up to foster inner healing but also the opportunity to connect with other folks in a more meaningful way than your average stay.

There are so many beautiful things to see and do nearby and Liz can help you out. A secret unexpected treat was Wehrloom Honey & Meadery.

Spiritually I feel this was a really positive and transformative experience at a much needed time. Liz is an incredibly gifted healer and teacher. I hope to come back to The Heart Center again for a longer stay!

This was such a lovely stay! We were only there for one night but would love to come back. The property is much more woodsy than the pictures led on which was a big plus for us. Everything was extremely clean. Liz had drinking water in the room for us as well as hand sanitizer which was a nice touch. There is a portapotty near the yurt or you can use the nicer restrooms in the gym just a short walk away.

Our Yert at the Heart Centre was everything we expected. It was secluded and felt extremely personable. There was a thunderstorm during our night which knocked out the power, but even during the middle of the summer the Yert was cozy and comfortable without the AC. No rain got in either so the seal is top notch! I'd highly recommend if you want the camping experience while still being able to stay in a comfy bed.

A beautiful, magical place tucked away into the North Carolina mountains. The Heart Center is true to its name. The stars at night bring you back to yourself and connect you to the rest of everything. I was lucky enough to join a morning meditation with Liz and engage her about this lovely space. I recommend it to all whom are seeking a peaceful place to come back to your Heart Center. Thank you for having me here. I look forward to all you do and to all whom are touched by this space.

Oh boy, it does not get better than The Heart Center for the very modest fee Liz charges. The scenery is staggering, obviously, and you'll spend most of your time just staring open-mouthed at the majesty surrounding you. We set up a little craft table and spent a day painting the scenery, playing our guitars, and disconnecting in a place this agnostic can only describe as "holy".
That alone made our stay a privilege, but the generous amenities and thoughtful touches everywhere that make you feel so welcome puts this place over the top. We stayed in the Highlander yurt and were greeted with snacks, extra blankets, a little heater and plenty of fresh mountain water. The bathroom was about 50 feet away and super tidy, well-ventilated. There was this crazy gym there with tons of equipment, so we spent some time just shooting free throws and hitting tennis balls, being goofy and getting some exercise. There's also a lovely little cafe on the premises and while it wasn't operating because of Covid, she still had coffee and little snacks, wifi, board games, and a stereo with some CDs for enjoying some mountain music. We thought it was the sweetest little setup, very peaceful and pleasant. DEFINITELY above and beyond what we were expecting for the rate.
I worked in hospitality in New Orleans for years and so I'm extra appreciative of people who demonstrate that warmth and care in their work. Liz for sure is one of those people who elevates hospitality to an art form.
11 out of 10, would book again!! Thanks, Liz!

We had a wonderful time staying at The Heart Center, and found the yurts really comfortable. Liz was a truly welcoming, hospitable, and communicative host. She gave us lots of tips for nearby hiking and site seeing and was super knowledgeable about the history of the surrounding area. We would love the chance to come back in the warmer months for another adventure in the NC wilderness and relaxation at The Heart Center.

Highly recommend!!
