Escape the noise and heat of the valley. Chill in the cool mountain air high atop the Highlands Plateau with breath taking views and sunsets. Unhitch and relax in one of our secluded treed sites with water, up to 100 amp electric, and waste hookup. Base camp to adventure in hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, winter and summer tubing, ice skating, and the largest Zipline in NC, in National Forests and Parks. Bartram Trail, that peaks Rabun Bald, and the Appalachian Trail are a within a stones throw. Our campground is for the hardy even getting here is an adventure!

Due to mountain terrain driving, we do not recommend class "A" motor coaches or large toy haulers. All roads are paved to our graveled driveway.

Sorry there is no tent camping available at this time.

Note: It is suggested that class "C" campers bring or rent a vehicle. We are rather isolated. Rentals are available in Franklin, NC about 20 miles away. Make reservations as soon as possible. There are limited inventories and a high demand during all seasons.

If you truly enjoy the wilderness but still like the convenience of electric and sewer hookups, this is the place to be. It is located on top of the mountain with an open view all around. The location is still close enough to all of the small general stores and the many activities and adventures that surround the mountain side, overlooking the valleys. The owner's have set this site up for the campers that like to enjoy their privacy and at the same time, having all of the amenities and convenience. I highly recommend this camp site year-round bar none! The camp site host is very helpful, friendly, accommodating and makes you feel right at home!

Very private. Feels like we were alone on a hilltop. Cool views. Very bare bones site. Easy pull through spot. Free firewood. Laid back vibe. Good proximity to local attractions, esp aerial park! Great host!

Staying at Sky High Ridge almost felt like a luxury. You have not only full electric/water hookups, but also, sewer too! That means nice warm showers after adventuring all day. As long as you don’t mind the mountain drive, you can visit the scenic drive or any of the small towns near by. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do near the location as well. Peter was super nice. He offered suggestions of near by things to do along with checked in to make sure we were doing ok. We definitely saved this one to revisit again!

Bridal Vail Falls. Tucked in at the actual site. Overlook on your way up to the site. Sky High Ridge Campground

I probably should run this place down so to keep it to myself, but no this is a place that I must pass on to you all.if you can handle taking your vehicle up steep grades with breathtaking views, it's well worth the stay.garden, apple trees, black berry, blue berry, wild flowers next to site, more stars at night (no city lights) .so quiet I was given to closing my door's softly as not to brake the moment.the Host Peter is all you would need and want in in a host, friendly, knowledgeable of area and life in general! Might ask him to bring out the fiddle.last but not least 60s at night and no mosquitoes.

Very simple RV campground. No bathhouse (as expected), but water, electric, and sewer were modern and worked great. Sites are fairly close, but still felt pretty private. There are steep roads required to get to the campground and some fairly tight maneuvers within the campground, so beware of winter weather and big rigs, respectively.

Great views through the trees after the leaves have fallen, and very convenient to Sky Valley, Dillard, or Clayton. Our site had a picnic table, and fires were allowed, but it would have been nice to have fire rings to prevent fires from potentially spreading.

Host (Peter) was responded quickly, was very friendly, and was very accommodating.

In short, we loved this simple mountain top spot! We’ll be back!
